I don't claim to be in the know but my girlfriend works for the asset finance division of the bank that provided the funds for the compensation we paid Pompey for Harry. She was told last week that a broker had approached them to see if they would provide funds for Real and Bale was mentioned... Could be that Real are trying to get approved finance for lump sum..

WOW....what a day to miss. Just got in and seen 19, yes 19 updates in the RO. Is everything in the RO or did I miss anything. Interesting that JJ now suggesting we may keep Bale and Willian is a big signing if we can get it over the line - exciting times

I just caught your post in the glitch that happens when I post a reply and the new posts come up at the bottom. I think there is more ITK on twitter, but I'm only assuming so far and don't want to check the 7 new RO ITK's to spoil my whetted anticipation! I'm still catching up.

Talk about Capoue's abilities as a player should really go into the players thread but i'll enlighten you slags just this once.

Capoue seems to have this wonderful ability to receive the ball under pressure and keep it. Then find a pass and often he does it with his first touch. As he settles and adjusts, he is going to be special.

surely bale will be having second thoughts about leaving if we are considering signing lamela aswell as willian regardless of bales outcome!

we would IMO have a better chance of winning the prem than real would of winning la liga.

This is getting ridiculous now. IF both Willian and Lamela are coming in, then Bale going won't be anywhere as near as painful to see as I imagined it would've been back in May. However, I still can't help feeling that he won't go this summer. Seeing people like Raul coming out saying that he's too expensive at 100m stinks of RM trying to somehow embarrass Levy into lowering the price (clearly won't happen).

Also, with regards to Joe Lewis' loan, I'm sure I read somewhere that FFP allows clubs to spunk loads of cash if they show signs of recouping it every year. And if anybody is going to find a way of circumventing something like FFP, it'd be Levy.

We can't sell both Defoe and Townsend as we only have 9 homegrowners left now.


Edit: losing Bale would take us down to 8 (the minimum).

There is actually no minimum, it's more to do with limiting non-homegrown quota to 17. Besides even if there was minimum of 8 players, we could also throw random kid there.

However point of non-homegrown players is relevant: Friedel, Lloris, (Gomes), Vertonghen, Kaboul, (BAE), Capoue, Sandro, Paulinho, Dembele, Chadli, Holtby, Willian(?), Falque, Soldado, (Ade)

It's getting quite packed, though we're obviously losing a few

HG are Walker, Naughton, Rose, Dawson, Lennon, Siggy, Carroll(probably leaves on loan), Bale, Townsend (for sale?), Defoe, Fryers

Fryers and Carroll can be on youth quota though.
