Isn't Hooper the 'type' of player that Falcao is? A finisher to be the front prong of the three?
He's only got 18 months on his contract too and we have a working relationship with his agent having signed Lloris.
His price is likely to be a lot less than the £10m mooted, Celtic are about to withdraw their new contract offer to him & it looks as if he wants to leave. If £5.5m has been turned down, I'd imagine £7m might get him. Which in Levy World is a reasonable price for a statistically efficient player.

Comparisons with players coming out of other poor quality leagues could be made. Scotland's UEFA coeffiecient is 24.

Robert Lewandowski was signed from the Polish league (UEFA coefficient: 20) at the age of 21 having scored 41 in 82 for Lech Poznan.
Modric came from the Croatian league aged 22 (UEFA coefficient: 22)

More to the point, Defoe, Ade and Hooper is a darn sight better than Defoe and Ade.

Defoe, Ade and me is a darn sight better than Defoe and Ade. We need someone, and we need someone who is talented, hungry, ambitious and available. Hooper might just fit the bill. And if he doesn't, some fucker needs to, & i'd rather it be him than some half-interested loanee...

Nobody knows why pritchard wasn't in fa youth cup squad. I'm more worried about that than the defoe injury ...

Hooper is turning 25 in 3 days though. I think he is good enough for our squad, but I'm not sure if he can take us to the next level. I would welcome him, but there surely is other options. Wilfried Bony has scored16 in 18 for Vitesse in Eredivise (turned 24 a month ago) and Philipp Hosiner (23 years) for Austria Wien has scored 21 in 19 (+ 6 assists).

I haven't seen much of them though, but decent scoring records.

I don't understand all the absolutely clueless people here.

"Man why can't we ever get anyone that's good before they cost 30m pounds like Falcao or Cavani".

"Why can't we use AVB's scouting skills".

"No we can't have Hooper, the guy sucks. Trust me. We need someone proven in the premier league...how much would that cost?".

Those 3 posts are literally looped ver batim the last 20 pages in this topic.

If you want to get a world class striker before they light up a major European league you have to take risks. And I would hardly say 73 in 112 is a risk. Just wait until Norwich when we have 5 1v1's and get no goals.

"FFS why don't we have anyone that can finish?".

We really missed him too!

Seriously though, I have read one report on the game so far, from a spanner, and they said Bentaleb and Dombaxe were premier league stars in the making.

If Pritchard stays then all well and good. If he doesn't? He is 20 and yet to make a single senior appearance. He can't have been having contract issues for 3 years. Obika, Mason and Parrett all had much more playing time in senior football at Pritchards age and none of them 3 will come close to making it at Tottenham.

AVB may like, and think he's for summer. But if the Evil Committee see that Defoe is injured, AVB may find himself with a shiny(ish) new striker sooner than he thought.

Although if they signed us a decent striker...
