How about Vlad the Impaler?
Just been reading through the Vlad thread, seems it is still on, but still finding it a little troublesome.

I just assumed this was all wrapped up before we let Caulks go.

I'm sure it is really though, I don't think DL would have let him go unless they are sure of the deal.

I really hope we don't sell Gylfie just because we are annoyed at the agent.

Sorry i can't see this. Levy is a business man and business men don't sabotage their ability to turn profit to spite an individual. IF we entertain offers for Sig then it will be because the offer is good value for the club, nothing to do with who his agent is. Yes we would prefer to move on a few others first but honestly we can only sell those that people want to buy.

As for Sig, whilst i like him he does struggle to have a real place in the team. He is neither a central midfielder or a wide forward in my view. Possibly a false 9 but we won't be playing with one of them it seems so, despite his ability, maybe AVB doesnt feel he needs him this season.

Speaking of number 9's.........WHEN (hope) we see Robbie Sun in the shirt later today we will have finally purchased a striker and one that is probably the best left in the market. Great!

I think it'll get done. Maybe we were expecting it sooner than it is.

So 'Today is the new Tomorrow' then?

I'm holding onto my hat and trousers for the plethora of ITK (and signings) as promised ;) before this weekends match in Monaco...
Apportez-les sur!!

*Edit - there is a little story in a newspaper today about Willian being unhappy....hmmmmm

Meh, I think Sig gets overhyped by many on here, as much as he improved a bit towards the end of the season he's nowhere near as good as some make out, and he's no more effective than Dempsey at what he does. I cant see him fitting a genuine 433 if that is what we change to, so maybe we're doing a Caulker and shipping out those who don't fit the system we want to play.

My genuine fear with that approach, is that we tried that with Ramos and look what happened.

Soldado's been "done" more times than a 2 dollar hooker! Hope we see the official announcement soon!
I hear you, feel like i'm stuck in Groundhog day, every morning an ITK says it's done, then a new hold up breaks and i wake up to repeat the process.

For fuck sake, stop hiding behind ratings you ****s.

BOBBINS...

What do you not agree with? Are we magically forgetting that Levy makes signings rather than the coach/manager just because many people didn't like Redknapp?

I agree with you but I feel I trust AVB more than I did Ramos.

I also think we have a much higher calibre of players in our squad now.

Re Bale - I wonder how much Adidas are involved in this potential deal. It's pretty common knowledge that Nike have thrown cash around at certain big signings at their key clubs in the past - Rooney at United for example.
Given Beckham retirement I'm guessing Adidas will be looking at Bale being the next major poster boy. In the Adidas Real kit that holds a lot more welly so I'll bet they are desperate for it to happen.
Maybe just makes Levy's position slightly stronger in terms of £££

Also Underarmour trying to make waves...you may be close.

Edit: Maybe Underarmour are soon to put their monies in front of Bale too, to see if he doesn't like the new kit...and appreciate how Barbie and Ken they made him look in the shoot. Adidas kits are generic and nasty.

Be a pioneer Bale; you don't have to step into Beck's shoes. His feet are tiny, compared ;)

Mate, I trust YOU more than I trusted Ramos.

However, (fuck me I'm unpopular at the moment...now I know how BC feels) I'm still a bit unsure about AVB without Bale, which in a weird way excites me because if the inevitable happens we'll get to really see AVB earn his corn, which I think could turn out to be fascinating, we'll see more of the fabled tactical approaches that he is 'famous' for, rather than the Roy of the Rovers approach.

I'm genuinely quite looking forward, in a sadistic way, to life without he who should not be named. It was fucking quality to watch him at work though.

I imagine its more of a case of 1 + 1 = 3

We have a problem with Barnett, we must therefore sell any other player he represents.

I agree with both, but you always need a plan B.

While I'm sure AVB's 4-3-3 won't be rigid and will allow a degree of fluidity, you always need squad players who will fit into other systems in case you need to shake things up in the second half of a match.

Can't say I'd be heartbroken if Siggy left, but as mentioned previously I think he could be an important squad player next season.

Siggy picks up fantastic positions against lesser teams, plus i know he's scored big goals against big teams too, still not sure he has a position in the squad yet. Caulker, as someone else has said, has been given plenty of match time, and if AVB doesn't think he can do it, then i trust his opinion. Personally, he hasn't got the pace for high line IMHO

Soldado. Sublime signing. Have decided to forgive DL virtually anything he does this window (within reason). Bobado rocks!

You are one angry uptight dude, out of pure interest is there any chance you could unwind your knickers and explain what signings would make you happy if Bale was sold?

Yeah I agree, especially if he can really put his stamp on our squad and bring in the right people. Even without Bale next year I'm incredibly excited to see:

- Sandro and Paulinho together
- A competent striker leading our line
- Chadli looks like he is going to be a silky player (I see him as Krancjar with pace a bit)

I do love Bale but he is a rather selfish individual on the pitch so maybe we'll really see a team approach next year instead of just giving the ball to him and hoping he can do something.

Really think we're going to surprise a few next season.
