What chance, after the comments from Ancelotti about not needing Bale, and talk the players aren't too fussed, that he struggles in Spain, with Levy offering to write off the money owed two years down the line to get him back...

Just watched the Bales best goals on BBC sport website. Id almost forgotten in all the chaos. I genuinely wish him all the best at Madrid, he has put us more on the map, and his sale has facilitated us having our best team in recent history.

Hope he hits the ground running and shows the fickle Madrid fans what a incredible player he is. See you in the CL next season bud!

So if they complete the Bale transfer tonight and we are actually getting a player from them as part of the deal does that mean we could announce another player today?

All the other bitter fans in the league trying to heap pressure on us. 'With all the money Spuds have spent they have to get top 4 at the minimum'. Am I missing something or last time I checked with Bale's projected transfer, we'll have a net spend of next to nothing... Possibly even in the black?

It'd be different if we had kept Bale and conducted the same transfers but this seems to be a basic concept other fans are struggling to grasp.

Without sounding like a spoilt brat lol...IMO if we sell Ade, Ekotto + Siggy and bring in Coentrao and Hernandez we are 1000% title contenders.

So we've still got at least £50m to spend!

You know the odd/ironic/karmic thing about all this...

In a convoluted and massively indirect way, while Franco is rightly getting a lot of the plaudits, we actually have Damien Comolli to thank.

Who knew?

OK so my Bale bet means I don't win 220 quid, but who gives a shit when we buy 3 players in a day.

More than we normally get in a whole window.....

Danny & Franky we love you
