Decent player, but grossly overpriced after one good season in the Prem. Much better players at much better value (Konoplyanka for example) available.

Thats still one good season in the Prem more than Konoplyanka. Apologies for being pedantic.

We'll be linked with Argentinians and Southampton players all summer now.

Only Saint I could realistically see us getting is J Rod.

Lallana will go to Liverpool and Shaw will go to utd.

Be interesting to see who he does being in tho.

I'd offload:

Ade - won't work hard enough
Dawson, Rose - not good enough
Sigurdsson - too far down the pecking order to be worth keeping.

Would like to see:

a new striker - has to be good enough to be our main man
Left back - one that can defend first and foremost
A Centre Back - to partner Verts

I can see Holtby being moved up in the pecking order.

Bent & Bentley have me (and probably Levy) wary of high priced English players now.

@jetsetyid should we expect a few new faces for the start of the season jj or is a case of go with what we got or sell to buy?...cheers

@Denizsea82 new faces

I think we can expect a fair share sold and maybe 3-5 new players brought in. I'm sure that not all of those signings will be starters from the moment they walk in the door. I'm personally hoping for 2-3 starting-caliber players with 1 or 2 young fringe players that can play some role in some league matches but primarily in the Cup competitions.

Agreed, about exactly what I'm hoping for. Pending the CB position outcome, I think we can expect to see at least two new faces (and I'd bet three, not including CB) in the starting lineup come September (hopefully August).

I really, really, really hope we don't lose Sandro. I'm sunk thinking about it. I would be absolutely gutted. I only hope that we continue our somewhat previous trend of pushing a few fringe players out and bringing in a few starters, to strengthen overall.

A few weeks back, someone on twitter was praising Eriksen and JJ replied with "You wait till you see who he will be playing with next season ;0)".

Suggests to me that maybe we have already agreed a deal with someone.
If we are building around Eriksen, he will probably in the hole in a 4231. The biggest change we could make to directly assist him would be a proper left-winger or a deep-lying playmaker as one of the two cms. I see a left-winger as more likely though, considering our current depth at cm.

I agree but would add in Striker to those other 2 options as he would be linking up with them often.

Saying that he could have just mean't Lamela finally playing but it didn't sound like it to me. He also said it back in April, so I don't think it had anything to do with knowing the next manager would play Lamela more (although, I think we could have all guest anyone would have).

I can't help but wonder/speculate/dream that individual may be Morata. Would make sense we had been communicating with Madrid over his future, and it would make sense for the club to go ahead and put some things in place such as terms since it's rather safe to assume none of our candidates would be opposed to such an acquisition, even if they don't put him immediately into the starting eleven.

May be and is likely horseshit, but that's the best theory I have at the moment. I do remember being very intrigued by that JJ post at the time, especially since I hadn't even the foggiest idea who it might be.
