Some Talksport guy: "There’s nothing stopping Pochettino from going back to raid Southampton for his old players."
That same Talksport ****: "He paid his own buy-out clause and there was no condition that he couldn’t go back in the summer and resign anyone.

Edit: I was about to post something from the Times article but after reading it more, it looked like utter bollocks. Gary Jacob said that Paulinho and Verts both have said publicly they want to leave when they have in fact both said they want to stay...

I think we'll now be linked with any and every Argentine player around, so my guess is Di Maria

Not with the way he's been playing this season. Found a new lease of life under Ancelotti and is an important part of the team.

I'm not sure if Poch favours Argentine players really. Has he worked with many? Osvaldo is one that I can think of off the top of my head but I'm not sure if he's convinced that he's Premiership material.

Well if you can call a match between the storied rivals of Peru and England a "friendly". It's like England vs. Germany if there had never been a Holy Roman Empire, two World Wars, the 66 World Cup, the 40 year drought, the 5-1 and Beatles Hamburg years.

To be fair, the Peruvians are still a little bit pissed about the whole Paddington Bear thing. They want him back. It's like the Elgin Marbles, but furry.

Freund was previously assistant head coach to the German U20's, before going on to be head coach of the German U16's and U17's, so he has a good background if he is to take Sherwood's old role.
Is Ramsey still with the club, or did he follow Tim out of the door? Rumour has it very highly respected. Sure we could find space for him back in the development setup. Parks, interesting to see what the club do with him, as Pochettino had clearly bought in his own GK coach for first team.

The Times believe Mauricio Pochettino will have £30M to spend at Tottenham this summer transfer window

£30M or £50m?: That is the question.

My guess in neither...

Well, we never technically spent that £50m that Uncle Joe gave us last summer. We bought Chiriches, Soldado and Paulinho with it but then made all the money back with the other sales. So who knows.

Or not a total mentalist.

Personally, if there was a chance it could happen, I'd rather spend the bulk of our transfer budget on Shaw, rather than Lallana. Surely we've got enough attacking midfielders already? If we were to get another, I'd prefer one with a bit of pace too.

I was hoping this would pan out with Freund getting another role behind the scenes, whether that is 1st team or Academy, good end to the day with that info.

You get the feeling Freund is like a loveable old Bagpuss around the place.

He's like the coaching equivalent of Sandro & it would be good to keep him around, even if just a mild link between regimes new and old. Poch's reputed to be ultra-thorough throughout the youth teams so it will be interesting who is tasked with overseeing development and linking things up. Sherwood, with Ramsey, did well in his behind the scenes job and is well respected in the sphere; I read something about him holding youth games on a pitch attached to his house (!)

With rumours of his manager hunting not going too well, is it impossible to think Sherwood might end up knocking back on Chief Dan's door? If he wasn't such a snidey gobshite, it probably wouldn't be the worst rehire but let's hope he finds a place somewhere.
He'll be back if he doesn't find himself in a job or his career doesn't do too well, you can be sure of it. He's trouble that man unfortunately.

We'll be linked with Argentinians and Southampton players all summer now.

Only Saint I could realistically see us getting is J Rod.

Lallana will go to Liverpool and Shaw will go to utd.

Be interesting to see who he does being in tho.

I'd offload:

Ade - won't work hard enough
Dawson, Rose - not good enough
Sigurdsson - too far down the pecking order to be worth keeping.

Would like to see:

a new striker - has to be good enough to be our main man
Left back - one that can defend first and foremost
A Centre Back - to partner Verts

Haha. You're right actually, no one's a 'friendly'. We even managed a 40 minute war with Zanzibar at one point. :cautious:

In all honesty, even prices being equal: I'd prefer Wolfsburg's Rodriguez to Shaw.

I really hope you're right.
Would love to see us buy a quality LB & CB, perhaps with the hopes of getting a tricky creative LW/LWF as well.

Rodriguez would be absolutely awesome, but not likely.
All sorts of clubs are after this kid.
Not to mention the enormous asking price these days.
