Yikes, the plot thickens. I guess the question becomes how much of that 90 million or more is up front. I also thought the FC link was due to their not being able to make the Modric payments. If the Modric balance gets wiped out in this swap, I'd be disappointed as RM are muddying the waters on the separate transactions.

If we do decide to sell, then Di Maria must be a part of any deal we do with them. If Perez can't convince them, then too bad. Coentrao is excellent, but we cannot find a Bale replacement in the limited amount of time left before the season starts.

I'm petrified of a scenario where Soldado is brought in and Bale is sold, and that's that for the window. Lennon and Townsend starting on the right isn't going to be good enough for where we want to go.

You're not crazy, I'd be happy with that. But only if all of those players join, if even one of them doesn't then it's not worth it, imo.

The stadium is the big thing for me here. Arsenal haven't been able to spend like a big club for almost 10 years because they've been paying theirs off. If we can pay off a large part of ours by selling 1 player then it makes business sense to do so.
