IMO this window is slowly turning into another disaster. I think we're going to come out of it short-changed (Really is the wrong term to use considering the amount of money we are going to receive)

It all just sounds so chaotic again, doesn't it?

Flip I thought we were going to add to the squad, primarily a forward, wide forward and a LB....and shift on the likes of Hudd or Livermore, and Parker etc...possibly Ade or Benny.

Now it just seems like rebuilding again and starting afresh almost. Well not quite...but for the first time in ages I felt we were stable and just need that illustrious quality forward.

Nah, think AVB wants to get the right type of players in to properly play his system. We need upgrades across the squad so this seems natural to me.

No he is a nice guy however all this rhetoric about Franco 'doing this and that' is bollocks mate. Any club will sell to us if we pay the money! Most Players will play for AVB and like what we are doing at spurs. He is just a mouthpiece for Daniel he isnt telling them anything else that is sealing the deals just a face.

Yet players like the croatians or that romanian CB, only were close to signing for us since Baldini came to us. Paulinho signed for us after we signed Baldini.

Baldini may only tell what DL wants, but I'm quite sure he's a better talker than DL. Daniel seems to be a very direct and hard negociator. Baldini the opposite.

Victims of our own success really. It may be our modus operandi until we get the stadium, but it certainly stresses out the fanbase every few years.

Hudd: 5 mill
Naughton: 3 mill
BAE: 7 mill
Dempsey: 6 million
Parker: 3 million
Ade: 8 million

Absolute guesstimates but that's £30 million there and none of the prices seem ridiculous? Add that to £9 million for Caulker...

We would of have a lot of money to spend, add in potentially Bale's money and we can seriously do some damage... Even keeping GB we can afford Coentrao (if we are to believe that they owe us for Modrat)

Plus the £50 milllion loan and TV rights.

All this info is frying my brain..

Tl;dr we have enough money to go crazy and challenge for the title and keep Bale.
Exactly. Would be surprised if our sales campaign isn't underway, to a degree. Levy loves a sale, so some wheels must be turning.

Yep, something he was never afforded to do at Chelsea or last season by the sound of things.

Also if Levy really is cutting ties with Barnetts clients (which may not be true) surely that means there is only one outcome from the Bale deal?

I'd imagine the Caulker thing was just a coincidence as we were offered good money for a player AVB supposedly isn't keen on.

Our biggest risk for me is a team of strangers lining up against Palace trying to communicate in Esperanto or sign language.

I think Enic are planning on making a lot of money this window and patching the side on the cheap.

It'd make absolutely no sense to sell Gylfi right now unless we truly want to dissociate with Barnett.

Gylfi's the type of player that could build value in a hurry. He can fill 2 positions in the 4-3-3 and he has really come on strong in the LF position of late. Ugh, I just don't get this at all. If he has a solid season for us his value could double. Sure, it's been early and some might not view them as good barometers, but Gylfi has been our best player in the first couple of matches.

He's a decent player, but far from irreplaceable. It's about principles, Barnett has fucked us over, I'd be fully behind DL if he chose to cut all ties.

Indeed he does, but it'll be on his terms. So the game will drag on and on and on until the last day of the window at which point we'll need a mini bus to take all the outgoing players away from the ground.

I keep getting the feeling we are going to oversell now. In essence we're going to sell off all the depth, even if it's only decent depth, and only bring in 4 faces. To me, that's a huge mistake. We were finally building a well-rounded club that appeared to have a couple options at each position.

Now, it's looking more and more likely as it was last season. A starter goes down and then we're really struggling. Caulker leaving only makes sense if he was pushing his way out. But, if that's the case, a replacement player needs to be brought in of similar quality.

If we sell Bale and then only bring in two players (Coentrao and say Di Maria for shits), that's fine. It'd give us good depth at LB and at RW we could have Di Maria and Townsend.

I'm growing worried that we get a little sell-crazy and then all the sudden we're looking at one guy covering two positions which can sometimes work but often times you play with fire and you get burnt.

Yeah but will he get the right type of players...

JJ said last year he wouldn't switch from the targets he wanted....and we all know how that ended up.

Not his fault - but we ended up with Dempsey etc,

Minibus? We'll make them drive on their own gas money or we'll ship them out on National Express!

Absolutely... it seems to have gone wrong in the matter of a week or so... Pretty much seem to be dismantling the core of the team.

Siggy was putting in good performances towards the end of the season, Dempsey would knock em in, Caulker was at least a decent back up. Bale seems off, Lennon looks to me a cover.

Hope Levy knows what he is doing, the first game is on the 18th of August if I am not too wrong, not much time left.

Think it will again be a case of a slow start and dropped points and that coming to bite us in the ass and by the looks of it, all cos RM are such big ****s.
Hate would be underplaying what I feel for them ****s!

I think in a way it's good as it shows Levy is trusting AVB with squad management but it could mean we are sold short. Clearly AVB wants to ultimately have a streamlined, tight-knit team with a few peripheral utility players to provide squad depth. Reminds me of the Dortmund model tbh.
