Net spend (like last summer) this window or profit-taking or serious investment in the first team?

What do you think will happen?

Will recent ITK of Pochettino asking for Levy to try harder for MS bear fruit or will history repeat itself as in the case of Moutinho & AVB?
This post is like the start of a talksport show....

Clear that targets are being made depending on whether we can sell.

Kaboul out - Nastasic in
Holtby/Siggy out - Stambouli imo
Sandro out - Last bid for MS
Townsend/Lennon out - Welbeck.
Soldado out - possibly a ST.

They won't all happen but that's what I'm seeing atm.

I've heard from a couple of people involved with the club that he became unpopular with the club's hierarchy and some of the dressing room when he talked about Tim Sherwood to the press prior to Sherwood's sacking. Mods PM'd re: my sources.

Sherwood said that Sandro was unfit to play. Sandro said he was fit and ready. I know who I believe.

Is Sandro speaking his mind about something like that all that bad? In fact, is it bad at all?

As things stand:

27 overage (limit 25). 20 overseas (limit 17).

We have 6 home grown players who were born before January 1, 1993:
Walker, Rose, Naughton
Lennon, Townsend, Mason (not including Fryers)

We have 18 non-homegrown players born before January 1, 1993:
Friedel, Vorm, Lloris
Kaboul, Vertonghen, Chiriches, Khumalo, BAE
Paulinho, Lamela, Dembele, Chadli, Eriksen, Capoue, Sandro
Adebayor, Soldado, Ceballos (not including Holtby but including Stambouli.)
We are only allowed to have 17 non homegrown in the squad of 25.

So at least 1 must be sold or excluded from the squad.

We still have Stambouli, Paulinho, Dembele, Bentaleb, Capoue for 2 central midfield spots. Unless one of them goes I don't see us trying again for Schneiderlin. Especially as Poch has already apparently said he wants to trim down the squad.
I think Paulinho is more in line for the AM spots, particularly with Holtby gone.

One final bid doesn't mean anything, it still has to be accepted and there is no guarantee of that!

exactly, just how selling VDV was meant to free up the money for Moutinho, who we then didn't buy. Southampton would probably need a replacement at this point so why would they sell at the last minute unless it was planned?

Let's see 1. Whether he passes the medical and if he does 2. How many games he is able to play

Put it this way - if he goes to QPR, he'll most likely keep that tosser Joey Barton out of the side!!!
That's got to be a plus for everyone!

I think it was his mentioning that TS wouldn't be in charge next season, prior to TS actually getting sacked that was the problem.

His last performance should have moved him to the front

Against the village team from Cyprus Sandro did stand out and was our second best player behind Paulinho. However even in that game he stood out for his tackling and pressing. If you watch his use of the ball you will see it is quite poor and he actually looks uncomfortable in possesion which is not good for the Poch system. I love Sandro and it's sad to see him going to such a poor club (if to be believed) but i can see why we would move him out if the likes of Stambouli are a better fit for the tactics we intend to play.

Sandro looks out, and BAE will be dropped - not sure about Khumalo

Room for at least 1 in!!

Sorry, just to clarify, I don't know anything about Sandro's possible transfer, just that he's not as popular as it seems.

For the record, I think he's a legend!

I bet we agree a deal for MS with some sort of cash + Townsend deal, only for Townsend to fuck it up and refuse to leave

Cheers @rebrab ! Really hope we get this done.

We can always entertain the option of using Paulinho and to an extent Dembele further forward therefore leaving Capoue, Schneiderlin, Bentaleb and Stambouli as the main options for the CM2. Stambouli has 'utility player' all over him if MS comes in, and a good one at that.

Pessimist in me is expecting another in-depth hard luck story however...
