my last hope for the remaining hours is that this window has shown that some deals Stambouli and Fazio have come completely out of the blue because the leaks out the club have been halted. Perhaps we've been able to keep some others under the radar.

We're clearly making room for something is my opinion

Stadium to pay for. We cant/won't spend money without balancing/ideally coming out making a profit.

I made peace with this after selling Modric and VDV and seeing dembele and Dempsey come in instead

Levy said that the stadium budget would not impact on the transfer budget

I can't wait until this stadium is built and fans walk into the first European night, sit down and quietly realise, once surrounded by 50,000 singing Spurs fans why we can't spend money right at this minute.

Failing to off load Andros Townsend to not upgrade our attacking options has left me more seething than I've ever been in any window.

Add to that we've sold Sandro. Fuck me.

Yep. Although the window is yet to close, it's shaping up to be a poor to average window again.

Shame really.

If anybody is disappointed at not getting Welbeck they have fallen for this Sky Sports Deadline Day bollocks hook, line and sinker!

I didn't expect us to make much movement today. The central midfield worries me a lot. People say we had too many but who is left? Bentaleb, Capoue, Dembele and Stambouli, of those the only one with any decent PL experience is Dembele and he hasn't been the same player over the last 12 months.

I don't have much hope for the season, finishing 6th would be pretty good with the quality in Liverpool, Chelsea, Man City, Arsenal and now Man United again too. We have a good squad and a good coach, quite simply we do not have the quality to compete with the sides I just mentioned.

I am not one to usually moan too much (check my posts), but if we look at the sales:

Sigurdsson £10m
Sandro £10m reported
Falque £4m
Dawson £4m
Fryers £3m
Livermore £8m
Total £39m

vs. Ins:

Dier £4m
Davies £10m
Vorm £3m
Fazio £8m
Stambouli £4.7m
Yedlin £2.5m
Total £32.2m

So probably a profit of circa £7m when you throw into the mixer the small fee's for the likes of Obika!

It's kind of unacceptable considering the net profit last year also, increased TV money etc. when we have a glaring need to add creativity and goal scoring prowess and now Welbeck is off to Arsenal!

The squad at spurs is impressive, but we will finish no better than 6th/7th with this level of investment, and should not expect more.

Here's hoping we are surprised with MS before 11.00 :)
And how do you pay the players on the team? Our wage bill is probably close to £100m so the increased TV money with the squad we paid for last year cancels out. People need to use their brains instead of complaining about nothing being done.

As far as I'm concerned that's fucking brilliant. Our squad's got stronger, we've trimmed the fat, and somehow we've turned a profit! The only reason for concern would be if the shareholders were taking the profit out of the club, or if they were planning on investing it in something daft. Neither is the case, in fact we're generating profit to invest in making us stronger which means our ambitions have a better chance of being achieved.

Frankly if folk have trouble understanding this then they should ask themselves whether they really have the insight or the smarts to be commenting. I'd liken it your kid trying to offer an opinion on the way you manage the household finances.

I love how all the usual suspects jump on any rumour and twist it to suit their nnegative view of Levy/Spurs.

Rubbish. Tottenham is a much, much bigger brand than Everton. They've brainwashed you- the club is in a strait jacket and what I find sad is so many supporters can't see it. Don't see Everton on this list, for example: http://www.forbes.com/soccer-valuations/list/

Whiles true, you should probably check the gap in revenue. We are the 6th biggest club in the country, with 5th taking nearly in an extra 100 million in revenue than us. It's a big deal.

The reason why we haven't signed a striker is there's no one good enough for us.

Alexander Lacazette is the type of player we should be looking at: young, nice physical attributes, versatile and coming from Lyon he'd likely come with a reasonable fee.
