Just heard from my man ITK and he says saha is true! But is only our backup option if another deal falls through! He wouldnt tell me who the other deal is because he doesnt wana get my hopes up as it does look unlikely! But he did say the striker and his agent is talking to our people! But is unlikely Hense the saha deal at the advanced stage!
Pav could still happen!
Bassong to qpr is 50/50.
We are talkin to blackburn about samba! But they dont want to sell so if it is goin to be done it will be a last min deal!

This sounds very plausible to me

Just don't see what evidence there is for this?

Also does no one see the fact that he is an ageing player with a lot of recent injuries - he WAS a good player, now - who know's exactly?

So what's the point then?

Money...

We need shot of Pav, so if we can sell him now, then Saha on loan is a like for like but with £(X)Million in the pocket.

Makes sense to me, even if the prospect of signing Saha doesn't feill me with anything tbh. But I see it like a few others as a "just in case our strikers get crippled" signing.

Saha is not our Nr 1 choice, so people need to calm down a little and see it in context.

We're all sitting here waiting for Tevez or Torres or LD, so Saha feels like a slap in the face, but in essence, signing Saha doesn't rule ANYTHING out.

It just signlas that Pav is very likely to be leaving.

The Defoe stuff is interesting, not sure how real it is and if its Saha in for Defoe, then I am worried, but maybe its Saha in for Pav and SOMEONE ELSE in for Defoe, assuming any of it is true.

Goals have pretty much fuck all to do with it.

:bang:

Goals have a shit lot to do with how good a striker is. Yes hold up play etc... is important too, but to say that goals have fuck all to do with how good a striker is, is the most stupid thing anyone has ever said.

Adebayor has been great for us this season because:

1.) His style of play has really helped our attack gel.

2.) He's scored 9 goals in 20 games for us.

Take 8 of those goals out and we'd be seriously underwhelmed with him this season and also a few places down the league table no doubt.

To allow us to cash in on Pav whilst still keeping that part of the bench warm for free, thus allowing us time to pursue the permanent replacement in the summer

Agreed, but we don't even have a firm rumour of where Pav might be going as yet, let alone any sign that we've accepted an offer with 9 hours to go.

Everton are a mid table team struggling to score goals....yet they are willing to let Saha go, and we suddenly believe it's a shrewd move? Behave.

Exactly, it says it all when Moyes plays a player he previously had a altercation with and tried to get rid off over saha as well as a greek guy who has scored more and a Argentinean that no one heard of

2008/09
Saha - 6 from 24 in the prem @ Everton
Pav - 5 from 28 in the prem @ Spurs

2009/10
Saha - 13 from 33 in the prem
Pav - 5 from 16 in the prem

2010/11
Saha - 7 from 22 in the prem
Pav - 9 from 29 in the prem

2011/12
Saha - 1 from 18 in the prem
Pav - 1 from 5 in the prem

It actually seems like Pav has been getting slightly better whilst Saha has been on a slight decline in the prem.

Plus Pav is 3 years younger than Saha.

I jus don't see much sense in it myself, unless there is a club lined up who are willing to pay good money for Pav right now.

Also worth noting pav has got 42 goal in 71 starts in his spurs career, I understand saha all round play is better but I rather go for Zamora as a last option

I know the TW is not closed yet but i personally will be disappointed if we don't invest in the proper target.
We are so close and with the right player(s), we can challenge and once again we have left it till late to sign any potential targets.
In the long run and towards the final part of the season, our regular team players may be exhausted because we constantly play the same players, injuries will take it toll and other teams will know our style and tactics.

Anyway COYS

Please go easy on your criticism to this post :)

I just can't believe we would sell Defoe

I would cry :-(

It's got to be bullshit? We are 3rd and will come 5th without Defoe

Saha may well be past his best but in our system he will do a considerably better job than Defoe or Pav.

Was that a good thought when it was in your head?

For 3rd choice he is as good as we can get for now. In the summer he will go back to Everton and we can sign a world class striker if we can finish 3rd

Watch this series of interactions where JH is a dick to Braz for posting something.

Saha Done BBC

Did you go through the whole process of signing up and registering, just to post this?

No, I normally just view and not post because of people like you. This is the transfer thread and just posting what is happening! I'm not thrilled we got Saha at all, hope Phil is wrong but like I said usually reliable. So don't get on your high horse to me, I'm a tottenham fan like all of us!

This is my favorite where he couldn't even apologize without a dig

Sorry mate, Couldn't see the link so thought you were a WUM, and tbh Mcnulty says 'looks' to be a done deal and not 'Done' as you put it

Ok mate, far from a WUM. Agreed should of said 'looks' (sorry) but he is so on the money 99% of the time.

And now that you have met my right-speak demands you are okay.

But later.....

Don't know if its been mentioned. Some Agent on H & J on Talksport reckons Defoe to liverpool is in 'Advanced Stages'... Surely not!!!!

See de 'ypocrites, dem a-galang deh!

So what's the point then?

In notoriously overpriced January windows, Saha's 3 month loan > Pav's wages (assuming he's jettisoned). Pav, for whatever reason, has been difficult to get rid of. Maybe that's because we ask for too much or maybe it's because we could never find a long-term CF solution to cover for him at the same time.

A Saha loan buys more time and, with the NDP news, may mean we're able to hammer out a deal for a Damiao level CF. Anyway, the discrepency in production between Pav and Saha is likely negligible for the remainder of this season. It's more about getring rid of Pav and making the correct choice at CF to spend the coin on.
