Dempsey did score over 20 goals last year. Many are quick to label him as shit... Could be very good on the right side of the front 3. Don't forget the reaction after the signing of Parker last season.

I think it's most likely Dempsey instead of Willian tbh.

I think we were only going to spend big on one signing and that will be Moutinho. That means we wont get Willian now so we've gone for a bargain priced Dempsey instead.

We can't sell our best player and lynchpin, have a ready made replacement who our brand new manager desperately wants, and who is willing to come to us...and then not bring him in after leaving it to deadline day to do a deal. We just can't. If Levy wants top 4 and screws this up he needs to seriously readjust his expectations.

Wow. Well, we've got some depth when it comes to someone who can score goals at least. No Moutinho or AN Other CM of similar ability when we've lost LM and VDV would bea kick in the nuts. We all know games and seasons are ultimately shaped in midfield. I can just about live with Sandro/Parker, Demebe and Gylfi as the middle 3 but the quality is markedly dimished from what we had just a few days ago. It's also paper thin. One injury and we're in Livermore or (ohgodohgodohgodohgodohgod) Jenas territory.

AVB passed on Sahin to get his boy. And his boy ain't coming. Don't have much good to say about such a decision.

This Dempsey deal smells like the attempt to buy Charlie Adam before Liverpool got him. He's available, he's not too pricey, sod it lets get him.

It's not the price, it's what he can do for us.he is a decent player, but is he really going to strengthen the squad up to top 4 level. I am not so sure he can.

dempsey is a decent player, as is sig.
However we have lost our 2 most creative players (and 2 of the most creative players in the PL) and replaced them with hard workers who can score goals. Last season we struggled to break teams down as they sit back against us - i can't see sig and dempsey breaking teams down like luca and vdv.
We have a serious lack of creativity and teams sit back against us - this is not good news.
However - i still think we'll get moutinho. C'mon Levy - time to start work.
