I don't get why we're so strung out on Moutinho, I thought the whole point of bringing in a 'system' style of manager was that we didn't need to buy specific individuals?

Although I can understand Rafa going to be closer to his wife, it feels like that has ripped the bottom out of an otherwise good window for us. What a player to lose, and with Modric gone as well it's a bit too close to the summer of Berbatov and Keane for my liking.

Hang on I'm a huge VdV fan! HUGE, I am concluding that VdV wanted to go. Dempsey is a good player, maybe not a headline grabber but he will do well, he certainly won't let us down. Again, If VdV wanted to stay we should of kept him but that not how I see it.

=Will be 7 million - We got roughly 10.5 for VDV. Is Dempsey that close to VDV's quality for it to be worthy swap mm..
=It's a panic buy simple as; we've never been linked to him.

I refer back to POTL: GK, CM and the last one in a CF. There is a possibility of us going in for player 4 if one of 2 and 3 don't come to fruition.

Surely player 4 is Demps and theres still hope for no.2 (Mouts). Or am I optimistic on this...

Dempsey is a very good player - but we need that ball player in Moutinho....if we get him, then brillant - if not, losing VDV and Modric, either way you cut it we are weaker.

Yep, all good signings we have made IMO, but without replacing Modric/VDV with Moutinho we have undone the good work.
