Panic buy or not, I'd rather have him than not have him. He bolsters our attacking options considerably.

I agree. I'd rather have him than not now. But if we had our shit sorted earlier in the window we wouldn't have to rely on a last minute 29 year old signing when we clearly could have done with a younger understudy to Adebayor. It doesn't help that we seemingly pissed away so much time on the wild goose chase that is Leandro Damaio.

Anyone think AVB actually wanted any of the players we signed? Perhaps Lloris and Ade. The rest I'm not convinced.

We had ample time to get Moutinho in. The one player that Villas-Boas wanted. The one player we need to create for us; be our Modric.

We fuck it up.

This reminds me of the window when Liverpool failed to replace Alonso and went downhill pretty quickly.

People need to look at the squad we are left with and come to terms with the fact that we'll be lucky to make the top 6. Supposed to be getting up early to travel to the game in a few hours and right now it just feels like a pointless trip to watch a bunch of people who have been sold out by their chairman.

What a load of fucking bullshit about only letting VDV go if we had Moutinho sorted. What a load of bullshit about only selling Modric once we had a replacement in place. Just a load of lies like we got when Berbatov was sold. Anyone who thinks we'll spend the cash in January clearly hasn't cottoned on to the plan.

Three. Dempsey is a striker as much as he is a midfielder, just wasn't played there much at Fulham.

lets be clear no issue with dempsey but to lose king, modric vdv and replace with what we have it cannot be anything other than underwhelming... i could only stomach losses like dawson / vdv, etc if i thought we were raising funds but not case.... im almost glad yk got injured and stopped md deal otherwise we would have another +10m not re-invensted in team.... simple is we r not stronger than last year... no argument...disappointing....

Levy has shown his cards enough times now, maybe time for a change!
I think he needs a DOF in place. He's too involved in all of these deals, and they're being over negotiated.

We were the only club in for Moutinho, and always had the edge of the player wanting to go there...With this deal in particular, it feels like we've snatched defeat from the jaws of victory...

Lloris
Walker Vertonghen Kaboul BAE
Sandro Dembele
Lennon Dempsey Bale
Ade
NOT INCLUDING: Friedel, Caulker, Gallas, Dawson, Parker, Huddlestone, Livermore, Jenas, Townsend, Siggurdson, Carroll, Defoe.

Anyone who isn't happy with that is seriously nutty and should probably seek counselling.
A very good line up, though lose Ade and we're in trouble

Below that we are very thin though. Parker, Livermore, Jenas in midfield then Lennon, Defoe, Bentley  for the striker and wide positions with Carroll and Townsend into the mix as well. Two or three injuries and we start to struggle.

Very good point.
