Unbelievable that Tottenham failed to close the transfer of Moutinho. As @pedrocnn anticipated, everything was set down since 48hr

We are laughable.

All I can say is DL didn't want it to happen and scuppered it. That can be the only explanation.

Some people just have no clue, not even the merest shred of an idea how the basic economics of football work, particularly for a club in our position - essentially trying to buy Waitrose goods and Tesco prices. Levy is not penny pinching for the sake of it, he's doing it because he has too and it directly benefits what happens on the field, and not just the next game, not even the next 10 months but to keep us safe for the long term future.

We'll be aright, I'm gutted we've lost 2 world class midfielders and have left a midfield clearly lacking brains and guile but we have goals in us, we have solidity and a manager who will spend more time coaching the attention to detail things that HR didn't. We have a very, very encouraging youth set up and ethos that will hopefully grow and be the cornerstone of what we want to achieve. We are in good hands and are a club that is set up for the long term future.

Lets smash Norwich to smithereens tomorrow now.

Give it a rest what do you know about finances FFS. We had the money for mouts from sales and yet agin we have made a transfer profit. I don't go to watch a BS. Levy has been truly revealed.

Shambles not signing Moutinho. Key to everything.
Dempsey signing bizarre, berba would make more sense.

Think. It wouldn't have though would it?

Dempsey fits into the formation that we are likely to play this season i.e uptop or on the right of the front 3.

Berbs would either start on be on the bench. Ade. Ditto.

Dempsey was needed.

What just happened.... Why are they saying Moutinho is off but Everton are still working on something?

Oh and why didn't we sign Moutinho!?

On the plus side I was absolutely stunned that Liverpool didn't do any business this evening, given that Lucas is out for three months as well.

Arsenal look light to, it could of been worse.

Clint Dempsey has had one good season and now everyone is creaming their pants.
Fuck off they are. He is the new Jenas. I hate him already. He is the signature tune, flag bearer etc of this transfer window. We let VDV go FF sake for Dempsey and it sounds like we haven't got rid of Jenas either. Will be hard to get excited about this season now.

Losing faith.

,

He'll be our second striker I reckon, better than Defoe at the lone forward role.

As it stands

Sandra (lol)
Dembele
Sig

Dempsey
Adebayor
Bale

Not to shabby.

Below that we are very thin though. Parker, Livermore, Jenas in midfield then Lennon, Defoe, Bentley  for the striker and wide positions with Carroll and Townsend into the mix as well. Two or three injuries and we start to struggle.

Edit: Forgot to add Hudd, but not sure he is wanted and there are doubts about his fitness...

Levy your brinkmanship bolloxs has cost us dearly, time will tell how badly you have fucked up!!

We lose 3 of the top 4 players at spurs and you give us in reply 1 replacement , what a great chairman you are

This could turn into an absolute nightmare, hope everyone strapped in on the levy rollercoaster!!!!

Lloris
Walker Vertonghen Kaboul BAE
Sandro Dembele
Lennon Dempsey Bale
Ade
NOT INCLUDING: Friedel, Caulker, Gallas, Dawson, Parker, Huddlestone, Livermore, Jenas, Townsend, Siggurdson, Carroll, Defoe.

Anyone who isn't happy with that is seriously nutty and should probably seek counselling.

Can you reccomend a therapist?

.. On a more serious note, I am mostly happy with our transfer dealings, but I am shocked we would sell both Modric and VDV without bringing in a creative "world class" midfielder. Dembele is without a doubt a very talented player, but I rate Modric way ahead of him.

Cheer up

Think of how many times Bale made a brilliant cross, only for the finish to be botched. This guy will score for us. He could be clinical.

This may seem a silly thing to say to some people, but imo we should never have let Luongo go out on loan. Not without further incomings anyway. He's the type of strong, all round technical CM that we are now lacking. The boy has serious quality about him and could have done a job for us in the absence of new signings.
