I've been a spectator on this site for a while and thought I would join in the discussion/debate on what should be named Daniel Levy day.
Absolutely gutted about Rafa. Always gave his all for Spurs and will always be remembered for being a true Spurs great. However, I think that although the majority of us are gutted by his departure, we must not be daft enough to think that the signings we are making are not a massive step forward for the club.
Rafa on his day was great, however, many times he lacked pace and couldn't last the full 90 mins. Plus the fact he is coming to his 30s, i think it is a good bit of business for Daniel Levy to make a profit on him at this stage. As i said, gutted to see him go, but more because of his love for the club.
I think a lot of people do not realise how big a signing Dembele was. This is the player who tore Man Utd to pieces, and was number two on Real Madrids shopping list after Luka. I think he will add much needed pace to middle of the team as well providing a lot of flair (ala VDV).
Moutinho was unplayable in the Euros and if he can bring that form to the Premier, we won't miss Luka much. Moutinho on his day is as good as Modric but scores more goals.
Lloris will be a great signing and has been rated as one of the top goalkeepers in the world for a number of years. This will be a real coup for us if we can pull it off and provided much needed stability in goal.... something which we have not had for many many years.
Not too sure about the Llorente rumours. If we sign him, will be by far one of the biggest transfers we have done in recent years. He is suited to Premiership and also we would of beaten all the big clubs to him. Plus the number 9 shirt was left free in the squad list so is this a sign that we are in for a target man? Just can't see how it would work with Adebayor and Llorente in the same team. I can't see AVB rotating them that much.
Either way, at least this transfer window we are actually attracting BIG name players (instead of saying we will sign Rivaldo, Tevez etc and ending up with Frazier Campbell and Louis Saha), and if the names thrown into the hat are the ones that come through, then we will be sure to challenge for the title.

I find it hard to believe we'd go to all the effort of agreeing a fee without having some idea of his wage demands.
Weren't all the noises that he wants to come to Spurs to work with AVB?
With Rafa and Luka off the wage bill, surely that's enough for Mouts?

Mouts has spent 2 months telling us he wants to play for Spurs and AVB. We have spent 2 months trying to get him and just broke our transfer record to do so. And you people freak out because SSN thinks we are struggling to agree personal terms? Levy is probably negotiating just to warm up for his run at Llorente. No way personal terms derail this transfer.
