All these people saying Dempsey is great; do you think AVB had this player in mind for his system? AVB has been shafted fast and hard up his jacksey by Levy and he's only just got here. Now all trust is lost.

Then AVB need to man up and realise this is not chelsea, city, psg, here we have to work hard with what we have got, he better realise there is no managerial easy street to success with £££ spent without thought.

Vertonghen, Sig, Lloris, Dempsey, Demebele and Ade are all very good signings that have been brought in. He has more than a good enough squad. We can all bitch about not getting Moutinho but thats one player that would have made the summer great business rather than very very good.

Yep. And some people are forgetting that Modric and Rafa WANTED to leave. They weren't sold on a whim. And we got good money for the pair of them, when we did.

We are only one compact, Portuguese midfielder away from a very good transfer window, in the context of the above.

Is Moutinho actually that good?

Moutinho is the closest thing you will find in terms of a like for like replacement of Modric

Dempsey's a decent player, as are all our signings this season - we have plenty of firepower at our disposal but losing Modders and VDV in the same window means we've got fuck all means of supplying them. Brains and craft completely cut out of the team.
