I don't know why I am still up.... Why am I still hoping he is going to sign?!?

But I just can't put my phone down.

Surely we knew about the 3rd party months ago

the big question... did we submit the "deal sheet"

if we did then i guess in theory there still could be a chance (for an other hour or so i guess....)

What is the 'deal sheet'?
The deal sheet was introduced two years ago. Clubs sometimes conclude deals at the last minute and it is not always easy for them to get everything completed and sent over by 11pm. The deal sheet allows a club to confirm that a deal has been reached in order to allow for additional time to submit the remaining documentation.
The sheet cannot be used prior to 9pm and needs to arrive fully completed before the transfer window closes. Once the sheet arrives, clubs have got until 1am in which to submit the full paperwork. But if a club are looking to complete an international transfer, it still has to comply with the FIFA Transfer Matching System (TMS) deadline of midnight.
Any player signed after midday on Friday will not be eligible for this weekend's match.

we may only announce it after a medical... done tomorrow i guess.... so i guess it's still possible... (trying to clutch at straws)

I really thought Villas-Boas was going to get backed this window considering Levy's reputation is staked on it.

Wasn't to be.

"Moutinho deal failed due to 15% players rights stake owned by a third party. Fee and personal terms agreed."

Edit: Here it is bigger "Moutinho deal failed due to 15% players rights stake owned by a third party. Fee and personal terms agreed."

Where is the source for this ?

How exactly is a fee agreed if we didn't sort out 15% of his rights? Impossible. Did we agree to a 22m fee for 85% of him or something? Pretty confused, but that statement above cannot be accurate.

That's what I think, but even so we've had months to sort that out, Levy knew when he signed AVB he wanted Moutinho

Gonna watch some porn... take my mind off this shit.

I did too - but had one eye on sky sports news.

I came when I was watching an Asian being pummeled by a bbc at the same time Jim fucking white was on my screen. I think I jizzed over Jim White...

Serious Q, are you now Levy out SK?

No. I appreciate what he has done for the club but since the Frazier Campbell fuck up I've never been a member of the 'Levy is a god' club. This window has just underlined that for me.

If we get an offer from someone who would be willing to buy the club and make some proper investments without pussy footing over the finer details until the other parties either get sick of it or die of boredom, I'd like to see ENIC accept.

But no I'm not calling for him to go. I just feel he's cut off his nose to spite his face in this window by trying to be too clever. Once he made the decision to sack Harry he needed to ensure that he did all he could to back AVB. In my opinion he hasn't done so.

Norwich should be fun

Hertyid updated us this afternoon that we weren't aware of the numbers involved, which made me think it had to do with the 15%. If this is true, then it's fucking amateur. End of.

Some people just have no clue, not even the merest shred of an idea how the basic economics of football work, particularly for a club in our position - essentially trying to buy Waitrose goods and Tesco prices. Levy is not penny pinching for the sake of it, he's doing it because he has too and it directly benefits what happens on the field, and not just the next game, not even the next 10 months but to keep us safe for the long term future.

We'll be aright, I'm gutted we've lost 2 world class midfielders and have left a midfield clearly lacking brains and guile but we have goals in us, we have solidity and a manager who will spend more time coaching the attention to detail things that HR didn't. We have a very, very encouraging youth set up and ethos that will hopefully grow and be the cornerstone of what we want to achieve. We are in good hands and are a club that is set up for the long term future.

Lets smash Norwich to smithereens tomorrow now.

Shelfy I think you're picking the positives as best you can but you can't ignore what we've been left with. We all expected Modric to go but not VDV too, not until recently and we thought we'd be bringing in one creative at least for these 2 top drawer players leaving. We really are quite a different team now, and honestly I don't think we're a better one. Yeah we'll do ok, yeah AVB will get the best out of them hopefully, but the hearts been ripped out of our team a bit. Every time we get so close we take a smack in the teeth and it's hugely frustrating, especially considering we've spent fuck all net this window (I think we've made a small profit).

I understand Mouts was expensive and difficult but what about contingencies? Similar but cheaper players who could've done a job in midfield on the ball? Arsenal compromised on Arteta for example but he's decent and a similar player would've helped us. In AVB's system we require a ball playing midfielder such as he had at Porto and as he wanted at Chelsea - we haven't got one unless you count Dembele but he's a very different player who likes to dribble.

I'm hoping AVB gets the best out of what he has as we all do. But whenever I see clips of the team from last season I'm gonna be a bit sad because we won't see football like it for the forseeable future and maybe not again for some time.

Why didn't we buy 75% of Moutinho?
1/4 of 38 games is 9.5 so Moutinho can only play 28 full games and 1 half.
