We have just signed Fulhams best two players from the last two seasons. Has anyone taken notice as to how the link up together? I for one haven't if i'm honest but i'm hoping they have forged a decent understanding between one another and if so that could be vital for us. Has anyone noticed their link up play?
HE it is :http://www.eplindex.com/17614/clint-dempsey-years-stats-graphs-analysis.html

"
Mousa Dembele has created a remarkable 22 chances for Dempsey in the last two years, and he’s put 16 of these chances on target. But none have gone in."
Now I know it says none have gone in, but the stat is still good

Everyone is frustrated as we don't have a little magician who midfield who can do special things. Moutinho was certainly going to be that player. It will be a tougher midfield, but perhaps one lacking just a little guile. All ITK pointed to a Moutinho deal this avo so it's a hard blow to take. We'll be fine though!

Sahin didn't want to join us - he joined Liverpool because they were paying higher wages than Arsenal for the duration of the loan

How is that possible? He get's whatever wage he's on at Madrid. Liverpool just pay Madrid a % or even cover all of the wages. It would make no difference to Sahin what % Liverpool pay as he'll still get his Madrid wages just like Ade did last year with City.

We've sd the heart of our team, fair enough he wanted to leave, but we haven't replaced him. We needed moutinho. Levy has failed in his job

Nothing is ever that simple - if we start paying their 15% at a higher price than Porto's share then perhaps Porto were going to come back and get pissy with us, perhaps the way the deal is structured means that there was no quick way to ensure that a legally binding agreement could be made (and translated and shit forget the word but legal thing that needs to be done in these cases) in time for the deal to work properly.
If we were serious we should have known and thought about that before - we had over 3 months for fucks sake!

Right bed for me. Really annoyed we havent got in Moutinho. We are lacking creativity and brains now in the centre of the park and a huge amount now rests on Dembele and I'm not sure he is exactly right for the role. We shall see though.

Still Dempsey is a good signing IMO and Lloris is a bloody excellent one, so not all bad.

I'll be passing comment on the game tomorrow at some point no doubt. See you all then.

Hugo fucking Lloris! The only reason we got him is because the likes of Real and Man U are sound keeper wise, this singing has been overlooked big style!

Also worth pointing out that many Spurs fans are happy with our window. We spend so much time on here and reading 'ITK' and get excited about potential superstar signings that we get disappointed when they don't come off and we sign so called 'lesser' players.

In my pub this evening there was a table of guys that I know are mostly Spurs fans, I know they don't use forums and lo and behold when I told them that we had signed Dempsey they were delighted, basically ignorance is bliss. If they had followed the Mouts epic over the last few months in the detail we have and not just the little snippets in the press then Dempsey would be a let down but for them it's a great signing.

Yep. Agreed. Though I still have the unshakeable feeling that if Moutinho was the one AVB really wanted (and this is an assumption of course) and we could have got him for less than we received for Modric, and he wanted to come, then Levy should have just fucking got him - at the expense of Dembele if need be. Hey-ho. COYS this afternoon. If we play well and win, I'm sure the optimism will come flooding back. Always the way.

maybe you're right; maybe Liverpool agreed to boost his wages to persuade him to go on loan rather than to the gooners

http://www.dailystar.co.uk/football/view/270060/Martin-J0l-blasts-Tottenham/?

MARTIN JOL blasted Tottenham’s approach to the transfer window which has left him short of firepower ahead of his team’s visit to Upton Park.

Star signing Dimitar Berbatov completed his £4m move to Fulham from Manchester United too late to be involved in today’s trip to West Ham.

But Dutchman Jol insists his side still remain a force, despite the departure of key man Moussa Dembele after Tottenham finally triggered a £15m release clause in his contract.

Jol said: “Look at Spurs, always waiting until the last couple of days, and we’ve suffered because of that.

“That was probably the reason I was a bit annoyed when we played Sheffield Wednesday in midweek.

“I don’t like that – to lose your best players – but Spurs work like that. They came up with the money and we had to react.”

I don't see how he can complain about Dempsey. We did them a favour there if anything. The alternatves were to either give him to Liverpool for even less than we were offering or leaving him to rot in the reserves followed by a move for nothing in a year. No doubt Dempsey's bridges had been burned at Fulham and there was no way back.

I can sympathise on the lateness of Dembele, but with him having a reasonable buyout clause Jol should have been well prepared for the possibility that he could leave at any time. Frankly if I were him I would have considered it an inevitability. If anything be grateful that we didn't leave it later. I sure am!
