Hoddle is a legend. I just wonder whether he has been out of the game too long. Whenever I see his analysis on the spurs games, I just wonder whether the thinks that the future is 3 at the back. From a style and tradition perspective there is no one better, but from a tactics/training perspective I would have concerns.

Snag with Hoddle for me is the man motivation thing . Sherwood et al , if they are onlytemporary in the players's minds , will lack the authority to really be able to push the players for their best performances.

Motivating players must be a mix of carrot and stick . I always worried that there was no downside to an AVB Spurs player who decided to take it easy in a match .No severe pointing out of shortcomings .

You have to laugh at the Saha story at Utd where he debuted and scored twice .Instead of praise , SAF came up to him after the match in a full fury for missing other goalscoring opportunities , hairdryer stuff .

Not saying that we need anyone crazy aggressive , but there has to be a downside to not putting it all on the pitch and Hod or temporary Sherwood....have they that stick side of the equation ? not sure.

Its Unlikely but couldn't they get Hiddink for 6 months until he takes over Holland.

Failing that I would like to see De Boer from Ajax. Hes been successful and plays exciting football when every season he has to rebuild because they sell there best players! (Sounds familiar aye)

sorry if posted but atlanta yid on coys posted this at some stage during the night:
What I know is we have ONE target otherwise it is Sherwood and Baldini until the end of the year [i suppose he means season?]
This is not going to go down well
This all started over the summer Levy wanted him gone

I reserve the right to ignore this

We've dug ourselves a hole, haven't we?

I hope this isn't going to be the managerial equivalent of the "well, we tried for so and so but it just didn't work out..." posts we tend to get on deadline days!

They MUST have a contingency?!

Probably debated to death, but his idea to use Andros Townsend as some sort of trequartista is baffling. He may as well put Dawson there.

As long as that ONE target is De Boer I'm happy.

You'd think right. Unless Uncle Joe puts his hand in his pocket and throws a lot of money at some club and manager, this could end very, very badly. To sack someone and not have a replacement already lined up in our position is fucking bananas.

This is my main issue. Fair enough if things with AVB were untenable and he had to go. Che sera sera.
But the seeming lack of planning over this is ringing alarm bells in my head. We needed a realistic shortlist of candidates. If we end up with Sherwood in charge - somebody who has never managed at any level - then this is FUBAR-ed.

Even if Tim "Spawn of Satan" Sherwood does a good job, it'll be blind luck on the part of DL.

Maybe Curbishley is as we speak is washing Daniel's car. Hoddle will be cleaning the windows at chateau Levy. But the people Daniel wants, just have much bigger fish to fry.

Don't say it too loud, I quite fancy a certain Spanish guy for the job. He sometimes goes by the name Manuel and waits on tables.

Yep. Anyways, we'll just have to wait and see. This has been handled poorly so far imo. The next guy we move for, assuming Sherwood isn't the long-term answer will hopefully be a Baldini guy.

I think we need a manager with a different plan to what we have in place as the football has been for the most part, err, not very entertaining.
However any incoming manager/coach is going to find a big squad that is heavily weighted to the system AVB preferred.
I dont think any January Targets or losing of deadwood can be realistically considered until we have a new man in place hopefully with a new game plan.

I wouldn't mind Sherwood if we knew anything about the way he wants football played. For all we know, he might play 3 or 5 at the back...
