Jeepers, finally the last one of these threads!
Today we're expecting the thread to be full of cock jousting of one kind or another, it usually is.
Go on, get it off your chests.
To those of you who donated over the summer we'd like to say a great big thank you. You all get a big wet sloppy kiss.............TSH is currently working through the list.
Usually this is where one would say something about how it's been 'real' or even 'emotional' but these words don't accurately convey what it's actually been. 'Torture' seems a better word. But that's me and this thread. The actual transfer side of things have been outstanding. We also saw the BSoDL exposed this summer, who are no doubt soon going to be claiming the window as a victory for daddy. I'm sure the Anti Levyites will have a trick or two up their sleeves to counter. Now there's some cock jousting worth watching.
We spent the Bale money, didn't tap into the TV cash, which one assumes will go into the pot toward the new stadium. Hopefully what we did this summer is an indication of the kind of spending we'll see again once the new stadium is built. Or a few years after anyway. I'm not sure we'll see this kind of thing again in a great hurry.
So laters gussettsnorters, we'll be back sometime in December
Today's word of the day is: Fartsnaffler
Goodby-ee, goodby-ee
Wipe the tear SC'er dear from your eye-ee
Though it's hard to part I know
I'll be chuffed to see you go
Don't cry-ee, don't sigh-ee
There's a silver lining in the sky-ee
Bonsoir old thing, Harry's gone, Andre's in
Bale has left, Lamela's here, don't cry-ee

Did anyone notice Ceballos left on loan yesterday? I just stumbled upon it by accident, didn't see it reported in England at all.

Ceballos - Looks to be a pretty good loan for him

Anyway, thanks to all the mods for their efforts, wouldn't have been easy for you

Great window for Spurs, culled and balanced our squad out and at next to nil cost. We've probably droped our average age quite a bit and with the academy starting to fire up we're looking to be in a pretty good state. Bring on the season, bring on the stadium. COYS!

No, where did you see that? I couldn't find anything on the Spurs website. Where has he gone?

Did JJ make one final statement last night? Other than that and no LB I haven't got much to say. We need something to do in January! I suspect we're giving Rose, Naughton and Fryers until then.

seems we made around 110m in sales/loanings and purchased 98m worth of players - probably reduced the wage bill too!

Bought in 5 great players who should go straight into the first team, lost one sensational player

Filled all our areas of weakness and strengthened in depth apart from LB.

We had constant media attention around Bale which is great marketing for the club.

To all those who are considering using this thread to moan about how we've broken even, and not used the rumoured Joe Lewis £50m loan money, please consider the following. (It's okay - it's not rocket science.)

At the start of the summer it was decided that we wanted to buy good (ie expensive) players, so the £50m was agreed on the assumption that Bale wouldn't be leaving. As it became clear that Bale would be leaving, the spending on players doubled and the size of the Bale fee meant that the £50m didn't have to be used, thereby not giving the club additional debt or clogging up borrowing capacity which will be needed for the stadium.

I believe that's called a win-win.

so what do we do now? A boring week of international games until we get the chance to unleash New Tottenham on Norwich. Or is there some methadone we can take to ween ourselves off the transfer window?

I went to bed before the WINDOW SLAMMED SHUT, time difference and all. Take it no new left back or striker? I saw the BAE and Carroll loans, not the Ceballos loan though.

Thanks to A&C and all the mods. The site ran great. Most amazing transfer window I've ever seen. We looked like a bunch of proper professionals and ran rings around the other clubs. We've stopped selling our best players to Man Utd and now only the biggest club in the world can push us around (and we can make them pay for the privilege too). I've been following the club since 1980 and the last few years have been the best run consistent run of success I've seen. This window sets us up (and the new stadium) to move to the next level. I think Lamela and Eriksen each have a chance to be as good as Bale, we have two thirds of Brazil's starting midfield, money in the bank for next time, and a bright, bright, lily white future. Right,i'll get back in me cave.

All in all, we bought quite well. Probably another striker, leftback and maybe a backup keeper will be nice but we really did outperform in the purchase department. We also shifted alot of players who will not make it if we are going to challenge so we did very well. We cant stop Bale going, but what do we expect from a player who obviously left us with no choice. I think we now have a chance to bed in the new players and maybe spend the money we have in Jan to rectify any problems we see these few months. This window was a 9/10 for me. Well done Levy, Baldini and team!

Got max we would ever get for Bale
No net spend.
Overall squad improvement.
Starting XI quality improved in at least 5 positions.
Younger & more versatile squad with amazing potential.
Lower wage bill.
Deadwood cleared
5 or 6 of the signings are potential stars.
Money to spend in January (probably)
Levy boughtafuckingstriker.
Financially prudent.

We now have a young and exciting squad with a technical and solid midfield, 2 potential worldy AM's and world class striker and we lost no-one of note besides Bale.

Stand up Levy, Baldini and AVB - Well played (y)

Great marketing to be a selling club? Dare I say it, a feeder club with a "special relationship"?
the point I was making was that our club has been brandished around the world but not in a negative way. I even heard our club mentioned on the news here in Australia. If no one had heard of us before then all football followers around the globe will know THFC now!

Would liked a left back, but otherwise satisfied. Now to get down to business.

I woke up this morning to a message from a friend in Canada saying: 'Bale is transfered!!! Is the spurs in trouble?'

Obviously made the news around the world but maybe lacks the context.

A&C - if you have the time, it would be fun to get some clarification on the qoutes posted earlier. Cryptics or just messing with our simple minds?

You mean 7 great players, right? Or are you discarding 2 of the 7?
