Greatest transfer window i've ever seen from us. Odd that we do have £0 net spend though. But we bought very very well, and this new season is gonna be extremely exciting for us I think! Can't wait to be at the Lane for the Norwich game!! COYS!

£20 donated for all the hard work the SC guys have done throughout the window too - hi5!

Sad to see Tom Carroll go on loan - to QPR of all places. Speaking of which, with BAE QPR seem to have loaned two of our players. I thought the league rule was that it was a maximum of one from a club - or is that just for the Prem?.

Well, there was the ~120m over the last two years.
Didnt really have anything to do with our partnership, just the fact we had 2 exceptional players with high values. Anyway off the downer, I am extatic about the signings we have made and hope they gel quickly so we can see the best out of them

Just for premiership...think Swindon.

Disappointed to see Bale leave, but boy
did Lamela, Soldado, Paulinho, Eriksen, Capoue, Chirichies (sp) and Chadli make up for that!

Important to note if the Bale sale had happened earlier those 7 players would have cost at least 50% more, so a great use of money. Zero net spend?..so what! I expect to see some news on the stadium soon then. That is just as essential as the quality of the squad. Once again we show other clubs (Liverpool, Utd, Arsenal - yes they bought Ozil but they needed a gk, FB, ch and DM) how you can improve a squad without breaking the bank.

A few gripes; LB position is weak, but I have faith in AVB to work on Rose and improve him. AVB requires high work rate and commitment, unfortunately he and BAE were never going to get on. Also if Tom Carroll was to go on loan would have hoped to a PL team to aid his development quicker but maybe none were interested?

But consider this;

League team

Lloris,

Walker, Kaboul, Verts, Rose

Capoue, Paulinho, Holtby

Eriksen, Soldado, Lamela

Cup team

Friedel

Naughton, Chiriches, Dawson, Fryers

Sandro, Dembele, Siggy

Townsend, Ade, Chadli

And there's still Gomes, Defoe, Lennon....

That is one hell of a squad!...

[edit] and for those having a moan about the RM partnership...what if the players don't want to come?

Redknapp will hopefully give Carroll plenty of playing time and build his confidence. He's a good prospect and he's only going to get better. I would have preferred something in the Premier League as well, but QPR isn't a bad destination for him.

First morning after the window has closed where I've woken up happy with what we've done.
In an ideal works, would've liked another LB for strength in depth, as I don't like seeing Vertonghen or Naughton playing out of position. However, that is just an opportunity for Fryers to step up, starting with cup games. Not too fussed about not landing another striker, as Ade stayed. Not too fussed about the clamour for a playmaker as we already have Holtby and Eriksen, and these boys ooze class.
Reality check, our squad is massively stronger in almost every position, whilst we have broken even on transfers (give or take), great business in these times of FFP. Our squad is better quality, more flexibility, and younger than this time last year. Once the players gel into AVB's system, they are going to take some beating.
Chiriches > Caulker (potentially)
Capoue > Parker (definitely)
Paulinho > Livermore (definitely)
Eriksen > Huddlestone (definitely)
Chadli > Dempsey (potentially)
Bale trumps Lamela, but that was unavoidable, and getting Lamela was the best outcome possible. A young player of genuine world class potential, who should provide us with similar dynamism. And we finally landed the top level striker we've been crying out for since Berbatov.

Things are looking good. We have Baldini in now too, to ensure continuity of transfers, hopefully off scouting the next tier of players for our academy/development sides (after a well deserved break anyhow).

Got max we would ever get for Bale
No net spend.
Overall squad improvement.
Starting XI quality improved in at least 5 positions.
Younger & more versatile squad with amazing potential.
Lower wage bill.
Deadwood cleared
5 or 6 of the signings are potential stars.
Money to spend in January (probably)
Levy boughtafuckingstriker.
Financially prudent.

We now have a young and exciting squad with a technical and solid midfield, 2 potential worldy AM's and world class striker and we lost no-one of note besides Bale.

Stand up Levy, Baldini and AVB - Well played (y)
Spot on sir. Once Erikson and Lamela bed in we should have the creativity we are crying out for. Slightly concerned about the LB spot but apart from that...perfect.

Fantastic transfer window, so much to look forward to. People complaining about not getting Coentrao have maybe been a bit spoilt by our other transfers this window - we cannot offer champions league football or massive wages, which makes it all the more remarkable that we have managed to bring in the players we have. Massive credit must go to AVB, Baldini and Levy. We have the strongest squad for a very long time and when things start to click we will be unstoppable! The goons may have signed an awesome player in Ozil but they have not addressed any of the glaring gaps in their squad and I am extremely confident that we will finish above them. COYFS!

Well ok, but then lets not loan out our only decent left back?

"Chadli's shit"
"We won't buy anyone"
"Someone on t****** thinks ars**** are buying Messi"

That's my round up of yesterday's thread :)

Seriously though: ERIK LAMELA and CHRISTIAN ERIKSEN are Spurs players!

Can hardly believe it.

I have a semi because we can choose from:
Soldado, Adebeyor and Defoe upfront.
Eriksen, Lennon, Lamela, Chadli, Holtby and Sigurdsson for forward midfielders.
Paulinho, Sandro, Capoe and Dembele for defensive/general midfielders.

Very happy at this point we didn't sell Lennon and Adebeyor. The new guys can't be expected to settle immediately and we need options.

I'm happy this morning that we kept both Ade and Defoe. Along with Saldado we have plenty of striking options. Really hope Ade gets his act together and gets plenty of game time. I think we're in for a great season. COYS

Think bennys injury is a serious one, didnt play to his usual standard last year and apparently failed medicals.

If the guy is not fit enough to pass a medical and has a long term injury i dont want him anywhere near our team.

I hope he plays well for qpr and proves his fitness and comes back next season as the old benny

An excellent window considering we lost our best player. We have now negated the need for Bale somewhat as we have improved the overall quality of our squad.

I think that Levy had been canny in delaying the Madrid move too - yes Arsenal signed Ozil, but I have a feeling they wanted more than just him and we made it so they didn't have enough time.

Think we are a couple of players short of doing something special (Willian and Coentrao) but we were gazumped by bigger teams. we now have a younger contingent that will hopefully develop into an excellent side.

Eriksen is a very good player, and we are getting him in at a good age. Lamela too - we need to be patient.

I have to say that this transfer window has been epic. The players we have bought in will be fantastic for the club.
The only point I would make, is that maybe the board got the announcement of some timings wrong? Friday was an incredible day for Spurs fans, and I think we all knew the Bale deal would be announced on Sunday, after the derby, but to lose 1-0 to the Arse, and then lose Bale was tough to take within a couple of hours. Add to that, that Arsenal then go an get Ozil, meant that despite all of our business, the window ended on a bit of a downer. This is probably why some people are complaining about LB, LWF etc. Perhaps if the board had held off on the Eriksen announcement until yesterday, we could have ended on a high and people might not be (unjustifiably) moaning?! It might also suggest that there was a degree of confidence that a big signing would materialise yesterday, that for whatever reason, didn't come off in the end.
Still, despite Deadline Day being quite the anti-climax, I'm happy with the squad we've got. Both FB positions are weak, but every team in the (assumed) top 6 needs to improve somewhere within their squad, and we still have a bit of money in the bank for January if Walker/Rose don't step up to the plate.

Onwards and upwards for the mighty Spurs!
