Ive never really understood that logic.

I dont get all my mates to work with me when I get a new job

I think he means someone who is experienced in working with him and training his philosphy. Like a head chef who leaves to run is own restaurant and takes the brigade with him.

I guess that would always depend on what job you were doing. If I got a job overseeing a programming project I would probably bring in guys I know that can do the job as well as a couple of new faces, just like a former SAS guy may bring in mates he knows from the forces to help on a security project, AvB should rightly want some of the guys he knows can perform

I just found that normally when a manager doesn't bring in people he has worked well with in the past it tends to be highlighted as one of the reason of it going tits up

I don't really understand the Freund decision, I would have thought AVB would choose someone close to him
Sometimes it's good to have somebody who is not a friend (pardon the pun) as assistant, so he can tell you the difficult things you don't want to hear from time to time. I think the problem with Redknapp was he had too many deferential people working with him, although if Joe Jordan told me someting not to my liking, I certainly wouldn't disagree!

Two different places now. Automony are staying as club sponsor for one more year. Something's gone on over weekend on sponsorship #SCITK

#EDIT - BTW not sure if this should be posted in the RO or not.

Yeah, but when you have worked with someone at a couple of clubs, like the two guys brought in with him initially, naturally you become close, your families get close as they move to a new city together, so sometimes it is good to bring in fresh blood. That is what Fergie has done so well over the years, bringing in new assistants and coaches from outside to freshen things up.
