I started a monthly donation a few months ago. It wasn't my intention to at the time. I just thought I'd make a one off donation so I could feel like I've done my part in helping maintain the site, but when I was on PayPal there was a box to tick if I wanted to make my donation monthly and I thought, yeah, why not. It's only £5 a month, but that's £60 over the year and I know the site needs it.

I don't want to sound like a sanctimonious prick but I'm sure there are loads of long time regular users who could afford to donate £5 a month but don't. I know I didn't do it for a long time. At the end of the day I had to look at it like this; If SC shut down then what would I spend most of my working day doing? Work, that's what. So I look at it as by paying £5 per month it means I don't have to do so much work. Now that's well worth it.(y)

Put £30 quid in the coffers 3 months ago so will hold off until the next donation drive if that's ok. Didn't realise babies were so bloody expensive. May have kept my zipper fastened had I known

£15 coming your way.

And I also have a bet with someone (Can't remember who) that will guarantee £50 more. Depending on transfer income this year...

This is a good shout. I set up a monthly myself today. Hope it helps Rob.

I know this has been mentioned many times before but I can't remember the answer. Why can't each member be charged £1 or £1.50 for an annual subscription fee? That'd cover the costs wouldn't it? I can't think of many people who use the site (lurkers aside) who would leave SC for the sake of a pound.

Is it just that you don't want to deter new people from joining?

I think this is an excellent idea. May i be as bold as to suggest five quid? I mean that's the same as a couple of beers a year?

How about a current membership vote on the general idea of a subscription and price guide?

Small donation made. Would be more but there wasn't a lot in the PayPal account and using the plastic would lead to all sorts of inquests when the good lady looked at the bank statement.

I'm happy to make donations. I've only made one so far (and a few pledges) because I've only recently started looking in regularly, but it's good value so I'll certainly become a regular donator.

But I'd donate much more if I was allowed to speak honestly about "ITK" as it comes along.
