The Basketball player? Am I wrong in thinking he also has shares in the club?
He does, and instead of a door knocker he has what he considers to be the finest poo he's ever done worked into a remarkably accurate likeness of Joan of Arc, varnished and mounted on the front door of his house.

A few things:

1. Transfermarkt has Damaio's contract running til 2017 (!) and his agent doesn't seem to be the bloke Ben Pearce has quoted, it's Vertonghen's agent, who also represents Didier Zokora (who he?) and Sebastien Bassong. So that's surely an 'in' isn't it?

2. Is Zaha expensive?
Compare other young Brits his age or younger

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (£12m)
Theo Worldcup (£9m -6 years ago!)
Aaron Ramsey (£6m @17)
Phil Jones (£17m!)
Chris Smalling (£7m)
Jack Rodwell (£13m)
Adam Johnson (£7m)
Jordan Henderson (£16m)
Alan Hutton (£11.4m!!!!!)- Dishonourable mention really.
Bale (anywhere between £7m And £12m, see earlier in thread, repeatedly)

Got them from transfermarkt so they're probably all wrong but y'know by way of comparision, it show that most young 'stars' are hoovered up by clubs well before they become valuable transfer-wise, there aren't that many big deals for young British players. The cream rises to the top. Most of that lot ^ were unproven and signed on potential alone, most have proven to be good players (so far). So, Zaha is expensive but not ridiculously so. Also for anyone thinking these figures are inflated by the oligarchs, well, that's how it is, and those are the prices. It's the market we're in.

3. Moutinho transfer

This has gone from 'done' to 'held up by player' to 'held up by club' in the space of a week.

Fun isn't it :(

Emmanuel Adebayor claims he is yet to receive assurances from Andre Villas-Boas that he is fine with the striker playing in the African Nations Cup for Togo.
Adebayor had initially refused to play in the African Nations Cup due to a row over team security and unpaid bonuses, but following talks with the country's president the Tottenham striker now has his heart set on taking part in the tournament.
"That is what he said to the press, but not what he said to me," Adebayor told africatopsports.com in response to Villas-Boas' comments to the media saying he was happy for the striker to go.

I'm pretty sure it was a 5 year deal he signed in 2011, so would run until 2016.

edit: yes it was, i won't bother translating as the word "2016" is in big fuck off letters ;) - http://globoesporte.globo.com/futeb...ssina-novo-contrato-com-o-inter-ate-2016.html

Pritchard - If the club only gave him a one year deal then they can't rate him that highly. He's nowhere near the 1st team at the mo and i'm sure the coaches know more about his qualities than any of us, so if he leaves then so be it... We haven't made any massive blunders recently with letting kids contracts run down who have actually turned out to be top draw so I'll trust the club on this one.

Zaha - £20m is ridiculous! anything over £5m is too much to be honest. The boy looks to have some raw talent but you wouldn't pay £20m for most established premier league players...even Lennon or Nani probably wouldn't command that sort of fee and are far superior players imo.

It's not all about what the club wants. The player may have refused a longer contract.

I don't have a clue whether or not we will sign Zaha, keep hearing different things so just gonna have to wait and see really. Moutinho I doubt will come now, I just think he is a dream that we all want and AVB wants. Willian I guess is the replacement for Bale as if we do get Zaha he can't replace Bale straight away so if Bale goes I'm confident that we will try for Willian, depending on the price. I am very confident we will get a striker because surely even DL knows we can't live with just Defoe for a monh or so. I just guess it's a case of either LD/Llorente or a Saha/Campbell panic on deadline day panic. At 1st I really didn't think LD would happen, then I got very optoimistic but now I fear that despite the info from JJ he is infact, a no-go. Personally I would take LD but I'm sure many of you would prefer Llorente. Just to clarify I know nothing but this is just what i guess. I'm sure that Levy and the Inter president will be to stubborn for eathother and nothing will happen and Llorente will want CL. And as Ive said, Willian I hope in the summer(should Bale go) and i don't see Mouts happening...ever. I expect the only in now is a crappy triker during a DD panic, maybe Zaha on top of that. I would love LD and Zaha and Holtby early would be a bonus but i expect nothing more than Bent with 15 minutes to go. :(

Also, Pritchard is the only spurs youth player, besides Coulibaly, that my non-spurs fan friends know. The guy has made a real name for himself in our next-gen, u21 and u18 teams. It would be a real shame to lose him. Here he is against Wolfsburg, scoring both our goals.

Why are we going to lose him (Pritchard)?

The LD stuff is getting yawny now  I think there is more chance of Ryan Reynolds ringing my doorbell tonight than us signing him. Its been going on for what seems like years, I really think there comes a time when you have to just admit defeat.

Manchester United aren't in the Nextgen. I went through Liverpool's nextgen squad for this season, and Sterling and Wisdom are the only two who are eligible this season and also seeing first team action.

Liverpool's last season NextGen team who lost to Spurs have several whio have played for Liverpool's first team.

Beats1 post didn't say ManU were in NextGen, only that he feared Pritchard (who was in Spurs NextGen team) might end up in Mancheaster. However of note about half of the ManU u 21 team who played Spurs u 21's at Altringham had CL experience - Spurs had a far less experienced team and wre unlucky to lose 2-1. Too few of that Spurs u 21's have had game time despite proving at u 21 level that they can do more than cope. Mason and Carroll arguably outplaying a 3 man ManU u 21 midfiel led by Fletcher being two good examples.

Totally agree

I don't think there is much chance of Ryan Reynolds ringing your doorbell tonight either :p

Yes Manchester United in the next gen, but I was highlighting that lesser players in the same point development have had more opportunities and I was referring to the Liverpool team we beat last year, they looked shit other than Sterling but 4 or 5 have made their debuts whereas none have made their debuts for us. Then when you consider there are more players talented than Pritchard who are struggling to get near the team, you can see why he may not sign a contract

I agree with you. I think a good policy to have would be to reserve at least one place on the bench in every game for the Youth player who has shown the most effort in training that week. Like a reward system.

Our club has a problem with trusting youth. Harry used to put two goalkeepers on the bench ffs.
