I am not advocating this as a sensible option but if we get Lamela and someone like Greizmann we may not bother with another striker and elect to use these two in that role when needed.

I don't know about Greizmann but I think Lamela would be able to lead a line, remembering we play through midfield not Route 1 footy.

I agree, but that little voice of Spurs reason at the back of my head (which admittedly is getting much softer) which is whispering that we should slow down a bit as these are the games that we normally f*ck up!!

Not this year though, not with this squad!!!!

Agreed, perfect upgrade on Defoe. If we buy Hernandez for say 15m, then sell Defoe for 7-10m(?). It's a fantastic piece of business. Though I'd wish Defoe well, he's been a servant.

Then more of a pipe dream (although in this window anything is possible): Ade out, and Damaio in - thats Soldado, Damaio, and Hernandez as our front three - and then with what we've already signed - we're title contenders beyond doubt. How are we going to keep them all happy? How do Man USA, Chelscum, Citeh, the Gooners back in the day, and every other TOP club around the world manage it? We need to start thinking like title contenders, if we want to be title contenders.

First things first buddy. We need to play like title contenders. So many new signings and this title talk makes me slightly nervous. How many times over the years have teams brought in loads of new faces and they've failed to gel.

No we won't, as with the exception of Soldado, all the players should increase in value over the period of their contract.

So I would say that if amortisation does come into play, of which I have no idea, then we will be posting a projected profit on our P&L for these assets over the period of their contracts

You can't slap a projected profit into a P & L. Unless we actaully sell those players any future profit will be unrealised.

And Soldado will be subject to the same amortisation effect as everyone else. In fact, as he's our record signing and is probably on a shorter contract than some others, his amortisations costs will be highest of all.
