JJ was. Breezer did call the MLS part though.

that's right - I think Breezer also confirmed he was definitely gone whereas JJ intimated it was on the cards, that's my recollection - all good stuff anyway

This isn't funny. On this one, Harry was dead on. He needed leadership and determination to avoid the drop and was stuck with a bunch of overpaid players that were phoning it in. So if you have a chance at possibly the best player you've ever managed......you give him a call

And Ledley, even on his knees and at this age........is probably still a formidable defender in the league. I don't doubt for a second he could come out of retirement and do a job for many teams.

How is that we forget how good this guy was? He may not have been as gorgeous and magical as Ginola or as clinical as Berbatov or as fun and gun as Jurgen. And in my opinion, he was even better than Ginola. Even with all these great signing......in 10 years, I bet I will still be able to say with no sense of hyperbole that King was the greatest player I ever saw play for us (I'm a Yank, so remember that football didn't exist until 1994 ;) )

You have to go back to the 91 side to find players that would truly be his contemporaries. And despite the casual use of the word legend, he's part of a select pair we've had since then.

Bale could take a leaf out of Ledley's book. Best English defender of the last 30 years.

I don't think that any forgets how good Ledley was - more that it's laughable that he, as you say, a Tottenham legend would come out of retirement tarnishing his one club career status and risking his future health that he retired for in order to play for Arry and QPR.

A hat's off to Breezer

He started out the summer posting that Bale would stay. While I don't know if he did, he even posted in late July that he was going to be place a bet on him staying. That changed suddenly on August 1st. And he started posting things I didn't want to hear. So I dismissed them. I told myself that his contact was winding him up. I was sure he was being played and that Bale was a good lad. But he wasn't being played or wound up.

I never doubted that he was posting earnestly, but I was convinced his source was a jokster. Guess that guy is dead serious.

So Breezer, while I never bashed (although that one time you thought I did and you got a bit petulant), I still want to openly acknowledge that your info during August has never changed on Bale and over the past two days has been shown to be 100% accurate.

Good work mate. Even though I hated it at the time.

But in the future, if you say things I don't want to hear, I will still try to convince myself otherwise. :D

So I went and dug some of your posts up. These are all from early August but due to how the threads are locked I can't easily give the link to the actual post.

And he once posted this article with the tagline: do people still think Bale is happy to stay

And so you're saying also that Bale has been without doubt unhappy, sulking, angry and all? I have not heard 1 word come of Bale's mouth to suggest that he is any of the above. I have though heard an equal amount of things about him keeping quiet. Is this either of the clubs or Bale and his agent's own doing? There's been good reports from some ITK's as well as the contradictory ones.

I too appreciate Breeze's input and the info he passes on in good faith I'm sure. Just don't know what to believe in this whole saga - but that is the nature and fun of ITK I guess. Keep it up Breezer and keep any info coming though! We love it.

You think Bale could be the best English defender in the next 30 years?

On his day and when fit was King the best? Yes. Oozed class and unflappability. Only defender Thierry Henry said could keep up with him.

EDIT:

Bale was always happier going forward. Just needed to get a growth spurt on.

My mate just text me and said he just bumped into AVB in Docklands outside of Canary wharf station. said he looked like he was with a couple of coaches and possibly and agent looking guy. My mate is a millwall fan so didnt ask him any intruiging questions. :-(

does this make me ITK??

Lennon has a flat in poplar iirc, fairmont?

Or potentially one of our targets came in through city airport. Now I am not going to trawl through the flight list from today/yesterday. But I am sure there are people on here who will.... fly nerds fly!!
