Dempsey was available late for a good price. Really don't think he was meant as a replacement for VDV.

If Chadli works out we'll have at least £4m potential profit on the fees, and a player upgrade, from the second bit.
I agree but he should have been discovered earlier or a player like him sooner, AVB said they had been tracking him for sometime I don't now how long. Although Dempsey created some valuable moments, it kind of seems like we wasted this guys time, who knows he may have done better at Liverpool and still have been there now.

Yeah he was just a last minute deal, but we should really have been able to scout someone so that we didn't have to make that last minute deal.
He did. Can see Ade and BAE going soon. Guessing Holtby is down to not being ready (come back from 21s tournament with Germany with a niggle I think), Dawson??

He did say that, and could be a sign in the cases of BAE and Ade (who were rumoured to leave anyway), but very much doubt Lewis or Daws wiil be out Heck, I thought Daws was our only fit CD anyway...

I think it's very telling re Adebayor and BAE. Assume Holtby is not fully fit yet and Dawson must be injured, surely? Suddenly looking worryingly short at CB with the season start only 2 weeks away...
Yes our scouts are terrible. Our squad is much worse than it was 3-4-5-6 years ago.
So it's good scouting to get a player in and then kick him out after one season is it? I guess this is just another of those things where people say 'ah no one is responsible for things not working out'. It must be great to work at a place where you don't take responsibility.
