i know it wont happen due to all kinds of things like money but a forward line of:-

Bale - Soldado - Suarez

that would take some stopping.

Can the Suarez like or dislike not go into the players thread now. You lot fucking go on like a bunch of girls. Levy will not spend 50 m pounds on a football player. Jesus.

Why would Suarez join us?

Quite simply - he wouldn't! Liverpool wouldn't sell to us (they'll never see us as a step up!), Suarez wouldn't agree to it (no CL), Levy wouldn't sanction it (upwards of £50m!) and us fans wouldn't stand for it. Not gonna happen, lets move on...

He was waiting for the ball to come in and tussling with Ivanovic. And then he very purposefully leant in and sank his teeth into his bare arm with no provocation. He's a lunatic. If that was rugby he's have been banned for months.

I dont think he's a lunatic, he's just a very clever cheat, in a strange way I kind of admire his will to win, but then I liked Taricco when he played for us

Frightening that so many posters want him in a Spurs shirt.

I want players who can win the CL or Premiership for Spurs

I don't care if they are racists, devil worshippers, members of the ku klux klan, boil babies in their kitchen, go around fields sucking off goats, all i want is a successful Spurs team

It's not the word I am against,it is the fact he used it over and over blatantly knowing what it meant and how it would be con strewed in this country. Saying it once might have been acceptable but more than once is not.
I guess this is a debate that will keep going as no one can guarantee how many times he said it but the stories I read had him saying it more than once.

My main complaint against signing Suarez is that he is a classless human being who will take advantage of the rules at every opportunity, he also hasn't helped his character with being found guilty of racism and trying to bite a fellow professional.

I don't want Suarez to sign as he would not benefit the Tottenham name and I believe that we could get better for cheaper

Where did he use it over and over? If there's proof of that then I will concede that he wasn't just being naive.

Unless you know something I don't, neither of those guys are racist.

Not to mention Gallas gave his all, often putting his own body on the line to continue playing when others would have been screaming to come off with injuries.

On Suarez, yes he is a great player and would improve the team on paper for quality. But would be improve the team, and when I say this, I mean the balance of the team.

We all know Suarez has quality, and we would take him in a second, well we would if it wasn’t for his ill-tempered reactions and blatant cheating in the game. I know I am going to get the “but bale dives” and “Defoe bit someone” Bale has dived only a few times, the other times there has been contact and his reputation for the poor dives went before him to make it out to be worse than it was, the same with Defoe, it has happened once and its not as if he is like this most games, and for both of them, when they did do the dive and bite, there was an outcry on here saying this is not how Tottenham play or act and we didn’t want to see that again, where as suarez, well his reputation doesn’t just proceed him, but it just seems to follow him where ever he goes.

Lets take Ajax, the first time he bit a player, this is where he was labelled with the cannibal of Amsterdam tag. This was the second time he had been suspended by Ajax (who took the bite incident into there own hands) he was also suspended for a bust up with team mate Albert Luque in the dressing room. Also during his time at Ajax coach Marco Van Basten was upset with his bookings he was getting for his quick temper and penchant for diving.

For Uruguay, Suarez was sent off in his first game for a second yellow for decent, his second was the handball on the goal line against Ghana, deliberately blocking the shot with a save a keeper would have been proud of, and as Ghana missed the penalty his celebrations in the tunnel made things even worse for himself.

For Liverpool there are the countless times for diving, the racial abuse and also he was also accused of one finger gesture at Fulham fans. And the second bite, the one with Ivanovic, taking a nice bite of the Serbian defender before trying to act like he had been fouled, no idea how he didn’t get punished for this one.

I have probably missed other things he has done, but this was a quick look and of memory.

So I think Suarez is a great player, but a player that isn’t great for Tottenham, and to me the harmony, and balance of the squad needs to come first before a big name that could disrupt things more, and he has done this at every club he had been at.

Admire him as a player, loathe him as a person, or both, the chance we had to sign Suarez is gone. It makes no sense to sell Bale for huge money only to buy Suarez for huge money. Spending £50m on a player who'll turn 28 next season (2014/2015) is not something we should be doing with the Bale money.

It would be PR as much as anything else, buying Suarez would placate some of the thicker sections of our support. I'd rather get Lamela, Morata and some young quality English talent (starting to feel a bit thin on the ground)

Suarez is not a good person, I think we all know that. Those of you defending him are simply changing your mind because he is linked with Spurs. The opposite is happening with Bale. 6 months ago, Bale was unfairly labelled as a diver, and now when he is seemingly off, he is being seen as a diver of similar, if not worse stature than Suarez.

That being said, I don't like Suarez's behavior, but he is a hell of a footballer. If we were to smash out 45/50m on him, I would trust it would be a final piece in the bank to push us for a top 3 challenge. I would hope that AVB would have some choice of how the funds were to be spent. He would likely only agree to players he could manager and control. If jolly old Brendan can get some success out of Suarez, I think AVB could get a bit more. A fluid 433 with Suarez, Soldado and possibly a Lamela type would be lethal.

Again, I don't like Suarez as a player, but if it gets us to challenge for trophies and possibly a title, I would take him. Many other teams have had a lot more dirt than a foul player under their fingernails to get to their winnings.

English talent? In a football context that phrase is fast becoming oxymoronic

I repeat something from earlier. Not the language Liverpool would want to hear!

Have to say whilst I admire Suarez the player, I hate the man that he is with a passion and would not want him anywhere near the club to ruin our name, he has previous for some of the things he's done whilst over here both from his time in Holland at club level and at international level with Uruguay so he clearly never learns his lesson, signing him would feel like we've sold the soul of the club.

Couldn't disagree more. I want Spurs to be successful with a good bunch of players. I would not like a racist player at the club I support and hope the club would do the same.
