If Bale is leaving this summer Levy needs to guarantee a top quality replacement or two, otherwise I can see the mood of the manager, the players, and the fans being massively deflated going into the new season, even after all the good deals we've made so far.

Quite frankly at $85 million I hope we sell as long as the money is reinvested. The reinforcements will make us a much stronger side overall and we can shake the one man team tag that has been rightly or wrongly thrust upon us. This team in it's current configuration is one Gareth Bale injury away from losing a lot of impetus and magic. Adding 2 or 3 top drawer players with the Bale cash will help mitigate injury paranoia.

When I saw pics of him training for Wales it didn't even feel like he was a Spurs player anymore.

Why would there be? We're in no hurry to sell here, they're desperate to buy. I can't see why we'd need to budge on our valuation.

Depends what our real valuation was. £85m for a player who allegedly wants out seems pretty good to me, time will tell if Levy agrees...
