I think that after his QPR loan spell that he wants to be starting every week. He has been a sub for us for a long time and his taste of starting matches has obviously wetted his appetite. I can't blame him for wanting out, especially as we are looking at players like Willian and Lamela who aren't going to be subs very often.

I agree, but I think the coaching staff could be doing more to keep a player like this. Its all well and good people saying he isn't a top four player, but looking at the squad right now, who is available and looking at form then he should be starting this weekend in the right forward slot. The fact that he most likely wont tells him all he needs to know...

This is what I was getting at about AVB a few pages back. We were told on his appointment that he would be great for youth development etc, I didn't really believe that then (how could I, he had never been in a job more than one season) and I don't believe it now. He sticks with the big names, and buys in players to plug a gap. Nothing wrong with this and I wont complain if we are successful, just seems to be at odds to what he was seemingly brought in to do and what Levy stated our philosophy was, coupled with the new training/academy facility. Seems to be club fitting what the manager wants, rather than the other way round. Fine for now, until he ups sticks...

JJ i got to hand it to you, if Bale goes this Window you will go down in ITK history as a complete and utter legend. You already are in my eyes (can't forget you coming out of the blue to call Saha and Nelson and countless others) but your legacy will be further cemented. you were the only one beating the Bale off drum for a long time, and your transparency this Window has been amazing. I really hope it's not true about you retiring from ITK after this summer but if it is I understand and I thank you for your valiant service (ha).

I type this as I lay awake in bed at 4:48 am with a freshly broken ankle hurting so bad I can't sleep. It's sad my first reaction is to whip out my phone and check the RO/ITK discussion thread but what can I say; I'm an addict for info about the club i love.

His attitude in pre-season has absolutely stunk, I think it has been a disgrace. I'm looking at a guy who thinks his place is secure and doesn't need to bother until the season starts for real... He will probably play against Palace and wouldn't surprise me if he has a blinder, but for me he deserves a massive kick up the backside and dropping, so maybe the message will get through that you cant coast your way through parts of the season and pick and choose when to turn up.

As I said, he's comfortable with the level, confident of his place in the team and he has no determination to go any further. Hardly the attitude of a winner. To quote yourself, its not surprising that he didn't reach the very top.
Those are strong words, I'm presuming this is ITK as I have no idea what goes on at the training ground, but I've not seen anything to suggest a poor attitude?

I think the one thing that we have learnt from this window is that the well of information that the ITK used to drink from has been dried out. I obviously dont know who knows who and how far the information goes etc, but I can see the following: Capoue signed with very very little ITK information prior to him signing. Chadli the same, although to a lesser extent. Benteke and Villa didnt sign despite masses amounts of ITK on them. Soldado transfer was pretty quiet until Franco was pictured in Spain, then all hell broke loose.

Im not saying ITKs are now out of the loop. But I think that there is misinformation being put out there. JJetset himself said "truckload".

its pre-season - stop it

Yeah yeah, but there is playing badly and there is not even bothering to run when the ball is two paces in front of you. I expect a better attitude and level of effort whenever they play. Its hardly getting him into good habits for the start of the season proper, is it?

That bit in bold is Levy's fault, I mean AVB is being asked to get C.L football, he can't do that by buying Conner wickham and those kinds of bods.

Just been told to expect some movement on the Gareth Bale situation today. It wasn't good news.

As ever, thanks JJ.

I hope you're wrong. You hope you're wrong.

But, if you are right, let's hope the Willian and/or Lamela deals can go through.

and most importantly: COYS.

It's wonderful news that you're here, as an apparent telepath, to give us a unique insight into Aaron's mind.

I think Lennon is going to be a lot more valuable than Townsend this season, because of the striker situation. We will have somebody lurking in the box now. We will need Lennon's cutbacks a lot more than we'll need Townsend taking a long distance Bale-esque shot.

Maybe. He's got the absolutely monumental task of summoning up enough energy and effort to take on his man first though...

Lennon initially in preseason looked jaded but thought he was good against Espanyol.
Having said that, we need some one better than him - he simply doesn't do enough for a wing forward.

be sad if bale does go but have reached the stage where i just want it done one way or the other so the focus can get back to the team and players that actually want to play for us. We need to get a move on and bring in some creative flair, really dont need any more destroyers and where is my CB

Weird coincidence. I presumed you bringing up Lennon in the first place was ITK too.

Turns out I was wrong and now we've had a shitloaod of posts about Lennon and it all should have gone into the players thread.

Now i'm coming over all dizzy. I don't know what to do. Should I go back and delete these posts as they are quite clearly fuck all to do with ITK and ban you as a thank you for taking this thread completely off topic, not to mention wasting my time, or let it slide because i'm a well hung lothario with a penchant for feather dusters and dwarves?

OK after weighing up my options, no bans, but if there's any more of this Lennon shit, i'll tap both whoever makes the next post and the original perp on the head with the naughty stick.

IMO as to A&C's cryptics all have links with willian as he is really small, naked gun-william/n :D just the first one am struggling with the link unless he is insinuating 2 players (Angel di maria)? I just want the bad news already. If I could have it now my day can only get better :( (work comp broke and my van broke down).
