I think that after his QPR loan spell that he wants to be starting every week. He has been a sub for us for a long time and his taste of starting matches has obviously wetted his appetite. I can't blame him for wanting out, especially as we are looking at players like Willian and Lamela who aren't going to be subs very often.
I agree, but I think the coaching staff could be doing more to keep a player like this. Its all well and good people saying he isn't a top four player, but looking at the squad right now, who is available and looking at form then he should be starting this weekend in the right forward slot. The fact that he most likely wont tells him all he needs to know...
This is what I was getting at about AVB a few pages back. We were told on his appointment that he would be great for youth development etc, I didn't really believe that then (how could I, he had never been in a job more than one season) and I don't believe it now. He sticks with the big names, and buys in players to plug a gap. Nothing wrong with this and I wont complain if we are successful, just seems to be at odds to what he was seemingly brought in to do and what Levy stated our philosophy was, coupled with the new training/academy facility. Seems to be club fitting what the manager wants, rather than the other way round. Fine for now, until he ups sticks...
