The talks took 18 months (from his own lips) he was on something like £8k before and is now meant to be one of our top earners.

On benteke. I'd take him in a heartbeat. No idea about the money, but definitely yes to the player.

I don't see why he couldn't fit in with us. Uber lone forward who will hold the ball up. Ok we want him to be pressing from the front but who's to say Poch wouldn't be able to get him to do that.

The problem is though why would he want to come here and play second fiddle? Uprooting Harry would be extremely difficult now.

Anyway I don't believe Liverpool would sell him to a rival for a knock down price either, and after only signing him in the summer....can't see how this would have any legs to it whatsoever.

In a perfect world though he'd be a class addition to back up Kane and to give him some competition if we could nick him on the cheap.

Can't see us signing Benteke but for those saying he wouldn't suit our style of play. If Poch can work with Lambert, then he'll have no problems adjusting Benteke's style.

I know 'pool only just bought Benteke but that was under Rodgers and not Klopp. The way Klopp wants 'pool to play will not suit Benteke hence the reason he may be up for sale and if he is it won't be until the suimmer along with a lot of the others.

After seeing the power of Watfords attack and how it made mincemeat of Liverpool yesterday i think Benteke\Kane would be a good partnership. I Dont know if he is what we want though. Can he fit our system? probably not.

Though I rate Benteke, I can't see this happening. He's too costly to cover Kane, and I don't see him pressing with the same intensity as Kane, a hallmark of our current squad. Plus, he's injury prone and very expensive for a single position. Berahino is attractive to Poch because he can play WF and CF, so doesn't become an expensive bench warmer. I'm not saying he's a better player but if the fees are comparable, I can see Poch favouring versatility. And Kane playing in the CAM role is fairly pointless when we have so many other talented players who can play there.
