There are only 5 clubs in the prem that pay more in wages than us.

That's an irrelevant stat because they all pay at least £100m a year more than us!

We pay marginally more than the rest of the teams in the league and you can guarantee Everton's wage bill is now higher than ours.

Everton paying such big wages that their best player has fucked off. Ours seem to still be here.

Our player is born and bred Tottenham and we just finished second.

Lukaku couldn't give a shit about Everton and he basically carried them to a 7th placed finish. Can't compare those two players' situations.

Can everyone just admit that they want a sugar daddy owner?

It's the same bollocks every year.

Levy would be stupid to up everyones wages this year in my opinion. It makes no sense. It seems everyone (bar Walker - and assuming Toby signs a new deal fairly soon) is relatively happy with the direction of the club, and the money they are on right now providing we maintain it. He has a year now where he can hold out increasing wages because everyone's on a long term deal and it isn't going to cause major issues. If we dont show progress this season, or if players start clamouring for more then expect to see us make new contract offers to players next summer. We'll be a year further on, going into the new stadium (hopefully) and Levy would have saved a load of cash in that time by not acting when he doesnt absolutely have to.

i just hope we sign the right player, if not i rather have no one. pipeline means fuck all if it turns out to be a 30m sissoko, then having to sell him again after a season

With our ever improving squad it gets harder for a club with our wage structure to purchase a player to improve our squad.

Can anyone for one second simply not read every post they disagree with like the devil interprets the bible?
Spurs has miraculously arrived at a place a few years ahead of any realistic time line of where the club should be at.
The question now is, do we need to implement drastic changes in accordance with this great place that we are at, or should we just carry on as if we were not ahead of any mile stone and risk losing it all?

Are people saying they want Levy out? I haven't seen any........

Did i say anyone wanted levy out?

Tell me though where is levy going to find all this extra money to pay for the stadium and pay players "what they are worth"?

Consider we have to pay the bank £200m by december.

Or stop buying players we don't need handing top wages to panic signings, and rather spend that money on continuing the tight, happy squad.

Where is the money going to come from? Either the owner or the fans. So how much are you willing to pay? Or do you want a sugar daddy owner to pay it for you?

I'm pretty sure I recall three of our best players giving interviews last season in which they mentioned the pleasures of being at a club that "did things the right way" by promoting youth, building a tight squad and then keeping the squad together - and how it was more satisfying to the players that way.

I think it was Kane, Dier and Alli. Not 100% sure about Alli, but def the other two.

When they move on, they will say different things like I want to win CL, PL etc... things change and nothing is permanent.

This is also affecting our transfer bec we cannot pay more than starting eleven and expecting them to be contended. Just look at Sissoko at 85kpw. If you are Walker, I would grumble as well.

The only way to change the model that's being discussed would be a change at the top so if you don't want Levy out you'll never get an end to this debate
I don't agree. It's always possible Levy could change how he operates :nailbiting: and I have other thoughts too. But it's so hot, too hot for all this........I'm off for a long, ice cold, drink!

The club is filthy rich, as I have duly accounted for earlier this month. The financial smoke screen (named stadium) is founded on facts but blown out of proportion. Filthy, fudging rich. Stop shaming the intentions of anyone you don't agree with. We need to realise where we have landed our selves and surf this wave of fortune, or we risk being swallowed by that very same wave.
