He’s messed around all window and everyone was saying he was waiting for today to ship out our non-HG players. He managed nothing on that front.

He’s had multiple players offered today but didn’t like the deals.

He pulled the plug on other details last minute after they were all agreed.

We don’t have any CBs capable of stepping into the system.

We’re going to have to not name several players in the squad, further “depreciating” those assets.

It’s all a mess and it’s all on Levy.
It's all been quite clear that lots of these deals have been dependent upon other clubs getting business done too. Lots of moves have completely stalled because of that.

Sanchez can step in, when he's stepping into the first XI as shown on the opening day. Tuesday didn't show us anything about Sanchez, it highlighted how imperative it is for us to not remove the entire spine all at once. Yes, if both VDV and Cuti are both out we potentially have an issue, but in Davies and ideally Dorrington, there are players who could fill in. Again not ideal, but not as bad as everyone is making out.

We'll have to not name players in the squad. Clearly we've been trying to get people out the door. Have accepted much lower fees for some of these players than market value, but players have rejected going. The players have the power in this situation, yes ultimately that's on Levy for the contracts etc. these players are on, but that was him backing the manager in charge at the time. At the time everyone thought it was a great sign of backing Poch that Levy splashed £60m on Ndombele at £200k pw, now we're beating him with the same stick.

Levy is ultimately responsible, sure, because he is the one at the top. But to ignore all context to all of these issues is to just ignore reality.

Ange confirming that the new DOF should be sorted soon. O keefe also saying he should have some info on that when the window finishes.

Have to say I'm really looking forward to that

Baldy out and all that but some positives:

- Dier and Sanchez leaving on a free next summer which will force us to replace them either with youth or in the transfer market
- Bryan is still here. I think he could do well in this system.
- Johnson gives us another option so at least we've got plenty of players to come on from the bench
- Bentancur back soon
- Better to sign nobody than to clog up the squad with more dogshit. At least Levy won't be able to fall back on this excuse next summer.

I'd completely forgotten about Gil - who, I agree, could be anything in this Ange system

Well we are in the hands of the injury gods now, we could be fine until January or completely ********
As we speak Romero has some players over for a beer and in honor of the upcoming world cup he's offering to show VDV what rugby is in the back yard.

The last half hour of this transfer window feels eerily similar to watching Contes Tottenham trying to get an equaliser against a dogged Brighton. We all know nothing mores coming but we’ll bring Sanchez on for good measure, go to a back 5 and play from the back in our own half, side to side to side to side. Just waiting for Brennan Johnson to sign fir Brentford in the last minute then we’re good…another night wandering what if beckons

The cynic in me thinks Levy dropped the priorities of further ins once we went out of the Carabao Cup.

Fewer games between now and January so less need for fresh faces.

Criticism can be valid but also OTT. Truth is we have made like 20 signings (excluding loans) in 3 years yet some act as if we do f-all every window.

I think not getting a Tosin level CB is totally fair to critique. And obviously we struggle to sell but that's the market, didn't seem we were asking for exorbitant prices for players.

But the incomings have been plentiful and that also has to be acknowledged.
This.

It’s possible to be disappointed we didn’t get what we needed to do done, without having a raging hate boner for the guy in charge.

This has crossed my mind. And it must have played a part in the resolve to make any incomings dependent on outgoings.

I thought you were joking when you said Dorrington. Is that really your answer here? A player with 0 first team minutes.

Players love to just chill here and collect their wages instead of aspiring to play more football elsewhere
