What are these "all acounts" that Ange isn't happy by?

He said in an interview or two that he was hoping on another defender in after VDV, but I can't really remember much more being said than that.

And if you're basing it off ITK, we really need to remember that it's all coming through multiple people, from different sources, some of whom have been providing info from well before Ange took over, and so to assume they legitimately know what he thinks or feels about seems a bit of a stretch. But of course if it bolsters the anti-Levy bias, it MUST be true.

Ange seems a pretty straight up and down guy with the media, him saying he's fine with it probably means he's fine with it. Not saying he wouldn't have liked another one, but there's a big distance between liking another, and being pissed off that it hasn't happened.

I have no idea Ange's state of mind, but he has said he wanted another CB.

We didn't buy one, sold one he had played, promoted one he hasn't played.

Our 4th CB is either Dier who he clearly doesn't want or Dorrington who, whilst a great prospect, hasn't played a single minute of men's football.

We play 7 PL games in December.

Two injuries / suspensions at CB and it's Dier and/or two 18 year olds for a potentially decisive chunk of our PL season.

Is it worth the risk? Surely either buy a CB on Friday or don't weaken what we have left.

So Ange said he wanted another CB, the ITK said Ange wasn’t happy, but we should assume that isn’t true, because otherwise it’s just anti Levy bias? Only one person is trying to bolster their bias in this situation and it isn’t me. And as I already said, the fact that Ange is a pretty straight up guy makes it a lot less likely he will wash any dirty linen in public (and rightly so).

It is amusing that we have SC staff members trolling us though, so thanks for that. How dare anyone criticise Daniel Levy

I think there is a huge difference in giving attacking players a shot than defenders.
When have we ever given a young defender a debut and seen them embarrassed. Its not happened at all in my memory as a spurs fan.

I've witnessed so many players coming through the academy and make MoM performances on their debuts from Tanganga, KWP all the way back to King and earlier. I still remember Gardner, Thelwell and Luke Young all playing very well on debuts.

My only real question is what changed to get these two outs done today that we couldn't do last week when the window was open to get a CB in? Gala didn't just wake up this morning and go "you know what I really fancy signing Sanchez and Ndombele today!"

Are we that strapped that ENIC couldn't go without this 15 million transfer fee for five days?!

It doesn't help when the boss comes out with things like this...
That “midfield in need” was Bissouma and Sarr. We had them but Levy’s awful managerial appointments nullified them. Our star goal scorer on the way out has now gone and not been replaced. We’re still in need of CBs. We lost our DOF and somehow hired a director of football operations and lost him before he started. Our major investor is looking at doing time for insider trading (and there’s no way Levy stays clean in that). Ange is the only bright spot in all of that and in his own words he needed another CB and Levy’s left him short (and fuming by all accounts).
And as far as I'm aware, nobody has come out with anything else to say that Ange is angry about the situation, I've certainly not seen any of these "accounts" that people keep mentioning.
And I think the fact he's just sanctioned the sale of Dav, he can't be that "fuming" at his defensive options.

This was a big statement by @Rob and people will listen to what he says because he gets info 'back of house' but he's not offered anything else as to where this little morsel came from, so I think it also needs an amount of salt before taking it as anything other than opinion.

Agreed - love when message board rumors turn into concrete info that people yell and scream about. I guess there wouldn't be a site here if we didn't have that (and sometimes good info and fun times).

I will say I'm a long time member here and fan since I was 12, but I am American and the way sport is covered here is so much different. I often get quite annoyed at fans just getting caught up in the "just spend more ffs" and not really covering the business of the sport. The literal fact everyone only ever talks about transfer fees and not wages is just baffling. It's illogical that it's not a common part of conversation. Obviously, it's because it's not required to be reported by teams the wages paid, but it's just insane. Our team has so many things we could do better. I agree with everyone on all the obvious points.

It's just quite annoying to me that I find a team as a 12 year old that has a great history, but honestly never got consistent results. We have a owner group as shitty as they are they legitimately has taken us to be called consistently a "top 6 club" in the new era of the sky top 4 and everyone just shits on the owner group because they aren't a nation state funneling limitless money.

Rant over - give me a quick ban if you want. Just tired of the non-stop dumb chat in the ITK thread that is supposed to be only discussing ITK and not just a bunch of whiny people. You don't have to agree or like the move. We are short. But goodness read the rules (ironic I know with this post). Apologies. I'll go back to not posting. Carry on and just think I'm dumb as a dumb American when it comes to the PL.

Ange isn’t happy about the CB situation (and that was while we had Dav). “Raging” is the quote we had. I suspect there’s some hyperbole there but it’s still Levy up to his old tricks.

Same way we were told Conte was unhappy with players being forced on him and you know how that turned out…

Fantastic. New manager in and one of the first things you do is piss him off.

God I hate Levy so much.

Just feels like that's a massive contradiction if true, especially with the reports and ITK that he approved Dav going. I don't doubt for a second he doesn't see the situation as ideal, but raging? Smells like hyperbole to me.

This appears to be the opposite of having players forced on him.

And it’s very possible that he’s fuming at a situation without necessarily BLAMING anyone for it; ( we always seem to need someone to blame, as though perfection is the natural state of affairs and if we don’t get it, someone must have fucked up.)

Is it true for example that we could have signed Lenglet? Presumably we chose not to because it’s more important to get the right player than get any player.

We’re all painfully aware of the problems we have suffered with having below-par players that we can’t shift bunging up the squad, yet here we are again seemingly preferring to repeat the mistakes of the past than than dig in, be a bit brave and insist on quality over numbers.

I’d rather trust what we have for a little while than buy a player because he happens to be available but isn’t the quality we should really be aiming for.

I imagine Postecoglu accepted Sanchez going as he believes he can cope with alternative backups but is at the same time not chuffed that those were the options he was left with, Sanchez or the alternatives, as ideally he'd have wanted another CB incoming.
I further suspect he'll be quite vociferous about rectifying this situation in January.

There isn’t any ranting and screaming in this thread (recently at least). There is discussion about our CB cover, and it seems a little odd that this is the ITK discussion thread and people are complaining that we are discussing ITK the boss himself posted.

A good chunk of people (including me) think we have been left unnecessarily short at a couple of positions, and haven’t done enough to reinvigorate the squad with the Kane money. But it’s done, so let’s move on - everyone will be delighted if we either don’t need CB cover or the kids come in and do brilliantly, so let’s hope for that and see what happens in January. At least we can enjoy the football between now and then!

I don't see the contradiction. He identifies Dav as not being good enough and wants 2 CBs. He gets asked if he's happy for Dav to leave despite only having 1 in.

"Yeah mate"

Would he rather use the kids than play someone who's not long term in his plans? Does that mean he's not annoyed by the situation?
