Let's be very frank. On current form, there isn't a more devastating game-winner in world football (though Messi and Ronaldo still have much more to their all around games, but the gap could close very fast next season). This isn't just a once in a generation talent. This is a once in a lifetime talent Tottenham has on its hands. Personally, under no circumstances do I believe he should be sold.

Nevertheless, the contract extension issue and whether he pushes for a move himself is still to be resolved. I know many people here think just enjoying his football is enough for him to not want to move abroad, but people are massively underestimating what Bayern and Madrid (the two teams I believe will come after him hard) can offer him. Both can offer him wages of 250,000 pounds a week. Real could probably offer closer to 300,000, which would be significantly more than what he currently earns. Even if we crush our wage structure and give him an extension at 170k a week, that is still well below his market value. We'd need to compensate for that wage difference and the lack of Champions League football by at least offering him a chance to win something significant. That means investing a serious amount of money in the first team. Is Levy prepared to do that? Is it worth it to him to try to appease Bale at all costs, or would he prefer to grab 60 million+ from selling him off, and use Townsed as a direct replacement, while spending some of the incoming money to grab a player or two AVB would like.

It's going to be very interesting to see what happens.

Not sure of all the details of the BT deal but he is clearly the figurehead of their flagship premier league football campaign so rest assured he's signed a lovely contract and would have had to commit to staying in England. Yes he could still go to another English club maybe but why would he rules himself out of the chance of a move to Real, Barca or Bayern , so I don't see him going anywhere.
However the BT thing has really got Sky rattled, sky has moved into BT's broadband market and BT have realized that they have to move onto sky's turf to survive, this could be a fight to the death as without a premier league monopoly sky can't survive its only football that keeps them going so they will launch a massive ceaseless campaign to get Bale out, be prepared its going to get nasty.

Don't underestimate the family aspect, especially with the newborn.
As Robbie Savage had a great deal of fun winding up Spurs fans with on 909 yesterday.... Not exactly a massive uprooting to Manchester.

I voted stay because of the murmurings of POTL but i'm not entirely sure why he'd want to.

I have always believed he will stay, im confident that as long as we keep moving forward and improving Gareth will give us the time.

No way he goes. One more year, then it depends on how far we've progressed.

Do you want to know what a player who wants to leave their club looks like?

It looks like this...

They look like this...

Or like this...

They don't look like this...

Gareth's staying. Let's not even entertain otherwise.

Am sure Bale will stay, next summer might be different if we don't make CL but Bale is not a liar like Judas or a cry baby like Modric/Berbatov he is very level headed and professional I doubt he will cause problems.

It is up to Levy now to invest and push on for that CL spot next season and show Bale this is where his future lies.

I think he should go to the Continent.

The treatment he receives from referees in England is abominable and he receives no public support from the Club in the way Wenger, Fergie, Mourinho etc do for their players.

If we lose him I blame the Club for not going public taking a fine if need be and supporting him and that includes AVB.
