It's like watching Spurs without Dele, Eriksen, Son, Dembele, Vertonghen, Aldeweireld, Rose, Aurier, Sanchez and Winks.

I think that is Southgate's problem - I think he really is trying to emulate Spurs - but does not understand how the squad is constructed.

Rashford, Sterling, Oxlade-Chamberlain = nobody committed to being the creator - i.e. no Eriksen

Dier and Henderson = not enough creativity in the CM pairing to move the ball around effectively.

Stones and Cahill = not enough skill to bring the ball up effectively, or to hit the long passes.

Will he get a chance though?
Doubt it, Southgate will swap the strikers around and, if we're really really lucky, move Chamberlain more central. You know, into that role he wants to play but can't.

After all this time, I am still left baffled that Jordan Henderson is considered a Premier League footballer. He is a guy who legitimately steals a living.

See - I think that is more Sterling than Rashford. I liked Rashford's play in the first half.

I did too but there's a still a sense of him looking like he needs to do it all himself, I still don't think the players look like they're playing for each other. I think that freekick near the end from Rashford summed it up. It actually wasn't a bad effort from there but still in that position you surely have to be playing that into the area.

It's just awful to watch but that 3 behind Kane is just all pace and not a lot between the ears. The sooner you can get Lallana and Alli in behind the better IMO.

To be fair to him though, there isn't many to choose from in that role. The ones we do have like Lallana and Barkley are injured.

That doesn't excuse him though for selections like tonight where we get three of the same player in the attacking midfield slots, or always playing two holding midfielders o matter who the opposition is.

Why is Sterling being given priority over Rashford? He loses the ball often. He doesn't have vision and is not a great passer or longer range shooter of the ball. No way should he be playing in the 10 role.
