I don’t think there will be any trouble.

People thinking Putin and the Russian state want to declare war of football fans of other countries? Crazy. That’s real western media hogwash.
The only people in danger will be the local hooligans looking for trouble. The state will clamp down on them double hard.
They won’t allow Mother Russia to appear weak on the global stage imo.

lol yeah, putin is just a 'misunderstood' nice guy, give him him a break. The nerve agent stuff is all fake news, sad.

Nah, not quite but offing a double agent is one thing, forming gangs of hooligans to embarrass your own nation on the national stage by having them beat up football fans from other countries is a tad different I reckon!

They’ll want to show the world they don’t take no shit off anyone and things can run smoothly. I reckon there will be minimal trouble. Nowhere near as bad as in France with their softly softly approach. It’ll be absolute zero tolerance

The russian national sport is fighting they don't give a fuck about football. Giving england a bloody nose and sending them back with their tails between their legs will be seen as a national "win". What happens on the pitch is meaningless.

Putin's whole deal is that the russian economy might be in the gutter but they are hard as fuck, their whole national pride is based around old school machismo.

On the surface the police will be in control but russian hooligans will target the english fans and the police will look the other way.

I only just watched the highlights this morning.

Pickford and the defence were ok but would get ripped to shreds against a decent attack. Especially if we were really going to line up with Henderson (he’s so positionslly I’ll disciplined it’s unbelievable) and Chamberlain (who gave the ball away nearly every time I saw him have it).

I think we would have to line up with Dier and Delph in central midfield and just get them to defend, keep and recycle the ball to the attackers and just try and sneak wins that way.

Happy to see both rose and trippier getting a start against netherlands. a good game to watch. netherlands has some great talents in their squad. i would like us to sign Matthijs de Ligt if possible. could be a good replacement for toby imo

The Dutch striker options are absolute shocking.

Van Basten -> Bergkamp -> Kluivert -> Nistelrooij -> Van Persie -> Bas Dost

Well.... their main striker is out injuried.....

Would have been nice to see him. I am sure he would have done his best to impress.

I am referring to Janssen of course.

And now I know why he is their no.1 striker. How far have the Dutch fallen?

I think it's quite a smart move by Southgate. None of our central defenders are as quick as Walker so why not give him a chance there to see if he can do a job if needed? I doubt he's thinking of starting him there, but it could mean that we need to take one less specialist centre back in the final squad.

More room for another keeper.

If our boys kick off over there they will get wiped out.

Every cloud and all that.

I'm sure he'll only take three keepers which is the standard figure these days. He's got four in this squad, but it's a 27 man squad so that he can see a few extra players.

Having the understanding dele has with harry is a blessing at international level. Could be the difference between creating that crucial chance or not.
