More to do with the fact that he's been playing every 3 days for the last few weeks, it was inevitable he was going to get a strain at some point, if not with us then with England.

Yep. Kane will be next or Hojbjerg or someone else.

winks out too apparently

This is good to see, Jose is looking after our players, finally starting to act like a big club.

Remember when SAF used to pull this shit all the time, I used to get so pissed off when their players pulled out yet our players would always play, even under Poch that was happening, not any more.

Well dont worry next month there is another international break . From the start of the season . Up to now there have been 4 premier league matches and after tonights Denmark game 5 international matches . Just does not seem right to me as we are the ones that pay his weekly wages .The likes of Southgate get lippy if we complain about overstretching players .

Yeah it does seem to have worked although there’s doubts over dier for the West Ham game apparently. Let’s hope Kane only gets an hour tonight but I won’t hold my breath.

I doubt Mourinho has anything to do with this. The players are with the England camp. If Winks and Dier aren't fit to play, presumably Southgate and his physios know about it long before Mourinho finds out.

I think Jose has put enough pressure on Gary not to risk them personally, I don't think these injuries are that bad and expect them to be available this weekend.

Not sure if it's just me, but I still don't see why Phillips gets picked all the time just now. Henderson, mount and grealish would be the 3 is pick.

Really feel for Grealish. Not sure how much more he has to do. I can see him being another Hoddle as far as England are concerned. Talent overlooked in favour of grafters.

3 at the back, Maitland-Niles left wing-back, ugh

Why not a 4-3-3 with Saka at left-back and Grealish in the side behind Sancho - Kane - Rashford

We will end up winning but ny word that's a poor team. The thing is there are better players sitting around that could and should be playing.

I like Southgate but seems like he is either not trusting the back line or has some serious gripes with a few.

Fascinating reading the OP. 'Only' 6 years ago but almost nothing remains the same. Hart and Defoe the closest thing to a Spurs player in that squad. Gerrard and Lampard managers. Ricky Lambert!

Henderson is shite for England, Mount not a massive upgrade on Phillips but Grealish should be in.

TBH though Grealish plays form the left for Villa, is he a CMF, don't think he is more of an AMF.

I’d love to have seen a Harry Redknapp England. We might not win much but at least I’d enjoy watching us play. He’d friggin play Grealish that’s for sure and not continuously play 2 DM’s, one of which doesn’t really deserve his place. Hopefully our next manager will appreciate talent.

With that said, I like Southgate and don’t mind him as manager too much. The World Cup was great but everything before and after ( and some of it during.....) was all a bit meh.

There aren’t many candidates. Poch would be nice.. Rogers? Potter?
