The sooner Southgate goes, the better.
It’s like ConteBall all over again.

Southgate has always played favourites. He’s so conservative, that he daren’t trust the in form players unless the press and public are holding his feet to the fire.Henderson and Maguire....... yeah team not picked on who's playing the best for club
I do wonder if Southgate is too close to the players. If Maguire is having a hard time, maybe being dropped by England would make it even worse?
Trying to understand why he is picked tbh.
Henderson is a strange pick also - he's clearly in the twilight of his career and so picking him for qualifiers doesn't make a hug amount of sense. Unless, Southgate values his experience in what is otherwise a relatively young team?Southgate has always played favourites. Henderson being picked despite moving to Saudi is particularly galling.
It's why Postecoglou has been such a breath of fresh air for us. Just straight up ditches the old standbys from the first team and doesn't even include Dier in the squad.Southgate once said " I'll pick players on form" , well that's just been proven a load of bollocks
I think with Ange this is a deliberate part of him stamping his identity on the team. The interesting thing will be if he continues to do so after a year or so.It's why Postecoglou has been such a breath of fresh air for us. That team still has a ton of experience. Kane, Walker, Pickford, Rice. Saka is young but is experienced now. And Bellingham has just walked into Real and instantly dominated La Liga.Henderson is a strange pick also - he's clearly in the twilight of his career and so picking him for qualifiers doesn't make a hug amount of sense. Also it's a false economy. Southgate will say "Macguire hasn't let England down", which is not only debatable at best, but when he invariably does let us down, his backups won't have much experience because Southgate hasn't bloody played them. Also dropped richarleson after not scoring in a couple of games. Managers are paid to act like that, not stick by x players because he's a mate.
Best for the team/club means hard choices, ones Southgate seems to be avoiding.
Well the other CBs on the squad have 8 caps between them so perhaps more understandable than usual. Henderson on the other hand is indefensible. I’d play maddison as one of the midfield 3 and rashford off the leftI do wonder if Southgate is too close to the players. He even gets to watch it for Spurs - Bissouma is Rice, Bentancur is your Bellingham (and Sarr for now) and maddison. It’s such a beautifully balanced midfieldHenderson should never wear an England shirt again, let alone start FFS.
When you could play Rice, Bellingham and Madders as a midfield three, why the utter fuck would you pick Jordan fucking Henderson?!
Southgate's a ****, no two ways about it.
The players think he’s wonderful and credit him for their own development, he’s getting better results than anyone since Robson and he’s put together the best balanced midfield in years.@davidmatzdorf care explain your thoughts on Southgate ?
