Rose's last few games habe been fine and I think he should go, it's a different situation to Lallana who hasn't been fit at all this season, Rose is further along in his fitness than him.

His last game was good, against west brom he was worse than bad. At fault for the goal, poor crossing, slow on the ball, complaining about non-existent free kicks when he had the ability to play on and just highly predictable.

He was better the other day, but better not great. Again he's missing a bit of that zip, that kind of arrogant confidence he had. This season he has been a defensive liability, again against leicester, out of position constantly, then lightly jogging while ball watching for two of the goals, literally lightly jogging back back to position. In the past Rose was very solid defensively, great at intercepting the ball early. I hope he turns it around next season I do, there is still a very good player in there, but he doesn't deserve to go to the world cup simple as that. There are three better English left backs in the league.

Who are the 3 better Lb's

Surely you're counting Luke Shaw lol

Think Delph is fit and better than him this season, Bertrand is okay, had a meh season and doesn't really stand out. Think it's okay to call Rose up to the friendlies to see how fit he is.

Fuck me our full-back options were poor.
I got 17.

Only in retrospect. Baines was very highly rated back then, was in the PFA team of the season twice in a row the two seasons before the world cup.

Shaw was hot property, the next big thing, just signed for united.

Johnson was the starting right back for the team who finished second that season, he wasn't a bad player back then.

Walker would of got in that squad if he wasn't injured. In the end Hodgson decided that Jones could play as an emergency right back, so took him, but Flanagan was the one on standbye ...

No I said before, this season Young, Delph and Bertrand. I mean rose can be better than all of them, but for performances this season those three are ahead.

Anyway Bertrand is out, apparently. So its between the other three. I want Rose to go. Love seeing Tottenham players in the national team, just don't think he deserves it thats all.

Pretty sure Southgate will take him though, he tends to be loyal and like squad stability.

Yeah I guess you're right. It's even scarier to think we took Heskey and Warnock to South Africa in 2010...

And Trent Alexander-Arnold apparently. That would confirm Southgate intends on using a back-3 throughout. No need to have 3 RB's otherwise.

I think I would take him. He’s quick down the right and crucially is actually a player that can take a good set piece.

There's been some talk about potential England wildcards, but would this be the wildest of wildcards?

Our reporter Rob Dorsett says he is hearing rumours that Bayer Leverkusen's Leon Bailey could be in the squad.

Apparently it is seen as a "long shot", but the 20-year-old has lit up the Bundesliga this season and could reportedly qualify by virtue of having two grandparents with English passports.

He was born in Jamaica but has only represented them once at Under-23 level.

What would you make of that England fans? Out of the blue but could be rather exciting...

Has had a good season, suggests Welbeck/Lallana would miss out though.

Also, here he's hanging with Dembele

Dan: I honestly wish the worst on England for excluding Wilshere, disgusting, appalling management of the lowest calibre. Southgate has actually been sucked in to media’s agenda against Wilshere and Arsenal.

I don't remember "wishing the worst" on England when no Spurs players were included in the squad in 2014. Some footbal 'fans' are so incredibly bitter.

Can't say I've every been overly impressed with Loftus-Cheek. Maybe I should have been paying closer intention.
