Have a suspicion that we might run riot a bit against Colombia.

Presuming we go with the same team as we played against Tunisia with Dele, sterling, Kane and lingard.

Imagine Carlos Sánchez coping with Dele, could be an absolute goal fest as well with England conceding a couple.

Doesn't look good for James Rodriguez. He missed the first game, was brilliant in their second and then broke down and only lasted 30 minutes in their third.

Even if he manages to get on the pitch Tuesday evening, he's not going to be 100%:

Their performance against Poland was for me the best 90 minutes by a team this tournament. I don't think it's a coincidence that it was the only match he managed to play the whole 90.

He'll be a huge loss for them if he doesn't feature.

If James Rodriguez is fit to play I'd expect Colombia to reach the semi-finals as an absolute minimum, with them even having a chance of winning the whole thing.

If he's not....England can beat them. But it's going to be a far closer game than everyone celebrating the "easier" draw seem to think it is. Even without James, Colombia still have a lot of players who can hurt us - Falcao, Cuadrado and Quintero are all outstanding on their day. If our players start underestimating them and thinking they're not as good as us (they certainly are), we're going out.

Without even talking about England, I think you're overestimating Colombia imo, with or without James. They were absolutely overrun by Senegal first half.

Looked very poor in literally every area of the park. Davidson apart, their defence was looking vulnerable with every Senegal attack - pulled out of shape, leaving gaps for opposing attackers to run into, allowing crosses to come into threatening areas.

England lacks creativity in midfield. We also haven't had a good run out against higher-quality opposition in a competitive game for a while. I think all of these factors will play out. But think we'll be using more DM options in this game to give Henderson support. I'd still give us the edge in attack, James or not. I'd also give us the edge in defence.

And, I'd finally like to add, none of this means anything, because of England and World Cups! Still think we find a way to win though.

Sorry. Ive got to do it. Put £20 on england to make the final, and h. kane for golden boot, and another £20 to win, and h. kane for golden boot. I know its the kiss of death.

Madman. Have you never watched England in an international tournament before?

I have since 1978. 1990 broke me. Thing people forget with time is that england didnt play well.We drew the openers and scraped a win v egypt. we then scraped through v belgium and cameroon. Its was all very last gasp. We then lost on a very fine margin in the semi.

The colombia game will show whether england have the capacity to reach the final. I haven't dared to dream since we scraped through v belgium.

COME ON ENGLAND!!! time to put my heart on the line.

Colombia midfielder James Rodriguez is not as badly injured as first thought and could play against England in Tuesday's World Cup last-16 tie.

The 2014 Golden Boot winner was a major doubt after he missed training on Friday, a day after he lasted only 30 minutes of the 1-0 win over Senegal.
