Now that the transfer window has closed we know what our full squad is for the foreseeable future, so AVB will have to start thinking about how to best use his squad.

After the disappointments in bringing in players in certain areas, to me our squad looks very threadbare in certain places and as a result I wonder whether we'll basically ditch the Europa League again. Adebayor and Dembele in particular have absolutely no cover, and the same can be said for Bale and Benni.

So what do we reckon? Is our squad big enough to be able to have a proper pop at the Europa or are we going to have to let it go by the wayside again?

I don't care about the Europa League, there's nothing to gain by winning it. If winning it would guarantee a place in next season's CL then it would actually be worth something and raise the profile of the whole cup. As it stands, it's worthless and we should focus on the league as long as we're in with a chance for a 4th place spot.

I don't want to see either of Ade, Bale or Lennon play in the Europa league. We simply don't have any cover for them and can't risk it.

Lets try and win stuff shall we?

Normally I'd agree but I wouldn't risk Dembele and Adebayor in particular in this competition. We have absolutely no suitable cover for either and they can't play in every game.

You mean, apart from winning something, like. Y'know, that thing that is supposed to be the aim of the game. Give me a trophy over coming fourth in some other competition any day of the week.

I think our group is to strong to play the kids. If we do, we won't get out of it.

Why is it so important to win meaningless cups? Participating in the CL is worth more to us than winning the Europa league. That's what's important, if we want to be able to keep and attract star players. Otherwise we'll keep having transfer windows like the one just passed.

Livermore hudd Carroll
Lennon Defoe Townsend

That's what I'd play in the Europa, might be able to scrape 2nd place in the group.

We just don't have the squad depth to mount a serious challenge I'm various comps. Any injuries to 1st team players and we could be screwed.
