Regardless of the frustrations of the past 3 years, if you didn't have an emotional connection to Dele then you're ice cold. His personality and flair felt like defining parts of the best Tottenham team I have ever seen and he scored in so many huge games for us.
I was at Palace away sitting up in a Crystal Palace Box directly behind the goal where Dele scored that screamer. Loved him and sang his name loud and proud. Unfortunately I don’t think we’ll ever see that form from him again. The heart probably wanted to hang on hoping he’d pluck up his ideas but deep down the head knew he’s done and has has been for a long while. No hatred towards him. Good luck at Everton.

With the odd exception here and there, it has now been years since Dele performed. He was on massive wages and he didn’t exactly command a bidding war. It is what it is, I’m just glad that we’re acting decisively in the market for once.

The deal lends strong credence to the idea that Paratici, not Levy, is in charge of our transfer business. As disappointing as the fee is, the broader implications are encouraging IMO.

I'll be honest when the ITK's said that teams were getting desperate and fee's were going to come crumbling down to ridiculous levels, I didn't realise they meant us

No chat of dele and Everton signing him permanently 3 hours ago. In same way - we could very easily pull something from left field here you’d imagine.

Clever accounting getting over FFP me thinks - All these reporters just dont know for certain and I think Spurs and Everton will keep quiet if that is the case anyway

We've spent 2 years collectively saying how useless Dele is and how he shouldn't even be near the pitch, and now some of you seriously think we should have got £20-40mil for him? Are you all insane?

If he was worth that much, we would have got that at any time in the last 4 transfer windows.

So with Alli, NBelly, GLC and Gil out and only 2 in, we are in danger of being left incredibly short squad wise. What happens if 1 of our new signings gets a season ending injury?
Gotta be at least 1 more in.

Well I wish Dele well, he's a good lad just not as focused on his football and he did provide some incredible moments. We should look back with fondness, not angst

I don't get people losing their shit because Dele is rumoured to be going for 10million.
We've not paid all that much more for a starting midfielder (potentially) and Dele is so far away from our starting team that Conte might as well have asked if I wanted a run out before him.
Any money, at all, is an upgrade on what we currently have in Dele

.

If we end up loaning or selling all of: Gil, GLC, Ndombele, Dele + maybe Rodon this window then that just says everything to me and gives me even more hope and belief that Paratici & Conte combination will be very successful in doing a fast and strong re-build.

Very very positive news this and surely would mean we will be bringing at least 1 more in today you would've thought.
To play devils advocate - these were players that weren’t really featuring, in a meaningful way, for the first team and given we’re out of most cup tournaments, the strain on the squad (injuries aside) will be less.

I can see us sticking to what we have due to the lack of quality players available.

It’s good work by FP though. Would love one or two more, but it’s been a good window
