I presume our wage bill is now £200k better off, could open doors for another new signing. Let's hope Dele and Lo Celso follow suit.

65m is just silly. Might as well not include an option at all (unless they just wrote off half the money we already owe them to afford it).

I find the Dele to Everton links quite puzzling. I’m friends with Deles cousin(in his adopted family) and he’s very much grown up a big Liverpool fan. She’s always said that was the only team in England (in his peak) that could’ve tempted him.
i guess career comes before allegiance these days though. I do worry that selling Alli while his stock is so low (rather than after a successful loan) could make us look very silly though.
Should be a loan we could miss out on a lot money if he does well

I think moving GLC, Tanguy and Gil out on loan makes a lot of sense, especially if Conte doesn't want to play them.

If they all impress that could suddenly really boost our coffers in the summer or give us good player swap opportunities.

If Everton really offering £20m for Dele, take it. Big ask for them to turn him back to a £50m player.

I think Trix is saying that we didn't ask for the purchase option in order to complete the deal, it was Lyon's suggestion.

He wasn't saying we don't want any money to sell the player ffs.

This wasn't what I was suggesting, I wasn't saying we wouldn't accept money for him, Christ I know I'm stupid but I'm not that stupid.

Here's my lunchtime summary of where I think we are:

In:
Juve duo incoming (almost certain)
Dembele to PSG off, been offered (unlikely)
Carrasco - Atletico want a big fee (unklikely)

Out:
Gil to Valencia on loan (fairly certain)
Ndombele to Lyon (fairly certain)
GLC to Villareal (possible)
Dele to Everton/Palace (possible)
White out on loan

What did I miss?

He’s not Jorge Mendez, granted. But he is a decent bloke, who actually works in football, who has a lot of contacts in the game and, MOST IMPORTANTLY, is a massive Spurs fan. Why the hate?
Agree and it seemed like he was actually trying to calm the situation out rather than stoke the flames

€65m?????

No way Lyon activates that :ROFLMAO:
I fully expect him to show his actual talent back in France. If PSG really do want him (and are able to get rid of players by the summer), this option avoids a bidding war in the summer. Still a lot more than anyone expected though...

Word of advice, if you are mates with him or anyone else involved in football, there is no point in trying to defend them on a football internet forum. I have close friends that are slagged off on here on almost a daily basis.

I'm sure you don't like everyone involved in football or the media and occasionally slag them off be it on here or at home etc, well they'll have friends too who disagree with your assessment. Just remember they don't know them like you do, and it's part and parcel of being in the public eye.

if dele does go, particularly on a perm, that must change the equation a bit in terms of incomings? Not enough fuel in the Ferrari yet!

I don’t recall Paul O’Keefe slagging SC off ??‍♀️Also, he is an actual football agent. If you want, I could give you his mobile number, if you wanted a chat?
I've had more than one report that he did so if you missed it, then you missed it. Regardless, he's an aggregator and not for on here.

Lyon will try to get best out of him and sell him for more than 65mio. Then activate 65mio clause and make profit.

That's my guess on their plans.
Could be they're just anchoring a price in case we want even more if he has a successful few months with them but they may not necessarily trigger it.

Apparently the buy clause is at their request, we didn't want it???
of course we did not want it. The clear idea is to get him to look good for them and then sell him for as minimal a loss as possible. They wanted a buy back back clause, so it’s £65m. They clearly won’t be able to pay that, so job done

We didn't want it at 65m??? What???
As in they wanted the guaranteed option to buy, we didn't want it included which is why I assume it's so high. If he goes on a stormer now for the rest of the season his value is restored because, lets face it we all know how much talent he has.

Doubt that buy option will be triggered…

By the way, if I could make a request, can we stop with the twitter vs SC infighting? People on here stop white knighting & bringing over what they are saying about SC on there. It’s just weird & keeps popping up in every one of these threads. It’s tedious. Stop bringing it over & we can stop bogging down these threads with the infighting.
