Dembele on loan for the remainder of the season would be a brilliant bit of business. The next few months would essentially be a huge shop window for him and will be super motivated to max out his wages at his next club come this summer.

That said, signing him on a permanent would be a disaster.

Sounds like we tried for Ousmane and got turned down. Player probably wants to hold on for a juicy free transfer to PSG in the summer.

I assume they can bend the rules to bring Aubameyang in.

I'd still love an opportunity to pop up in the last 3 hours but not expecting it.

Overall I think we backed Conte very well on outs, probably 1-2 short on incomings. I like the 2 we've got though and hope they improve us. We're right in the mix for top 4 barring an injury crisis.

Getting the players we have out was the right thing to do and positive but I’m pretty baffled by how many people are believing 2 incomings after sending so many players out is enough. Especially after reading statements like “Oh foreign players can take 12-18 months to settle in the PL” so frequently over the years. That’s correct, most players from foreign leagues don’t hit the ground running here. I’d say it’s around 50% that are good straight away and even less that are standout (Fernandes as an example).

We’ve left ourselves short and if we manage to get champions league it will be through more luck than judgement. If we somehow get one more quality player through the door that challenges the first 11 I’d feel a lot more confident but right now we are a few key injuries away from disaster. Say Kane and Son go down at the same time.. that leaves us with a front line of Lucas, Bergwijn and Kulusevski, 4 central midfielders with limited creativity and a right wingback with zero end product. This just isn’t a good situation to be in.

Could have been worse, could have been better. Sold 1 dead wood, the rest still here or will return. Almost 6 years since we signed a striker, the wait goes on. Still, 2 promising signings - let’s give them time. Thanks for all the updates.

Name anyone except the sports washers that taking out their two top strikers wouldn't absolutely fuck.

We are competing with the sport washers? United may as well be one, they have the financial power of one. We lose Kane and Son and it doesn’t just fuck us, it literally turns us into the bluntest attack in the top 8 overnight

Be good to get Dembele for five months but if we don't, and that lumbers Arsenal with PEA, then that's a fine consolation.
