Think it’s a Positive window regardless that it was only 2 incomings the players gone didn’t contribute like hoped so can we really say we are thread bare when they failed to deliver and we now have 2 different options for conte. Kulu can play in the role behind the striker so can cover 2 positions and bentacur will hopefully add some dynamism and composure in the midfield all Be it he’s in similar style to what we have. summer was always the plan hopefully we can kick on now and finish strong ?

With Son and Romero returning from injury, should see us through the season.

Apparently this was our window…..Edit per Twitter views and not mine

19 first team players ?
Worst midfield options in years ?
Once again finish window with profit ?
Had to block a loan move for academy player due to lack of numbers ?
No new LWB ?
No second striker ?
No creative midfielder ?

How is this a good window?

Really interested to see your calculations whereby we end this window in profit

I really doubt Davies will go. He’s been playing well and offers good cover, is a model professional and is cheap wages wise. Moura I also don’t think will go personally, yeah he’s not the required first 11 standard but he’s a model professional is agsin not expensive, loves the club and is a good squad player.
With their great attitudes, they can both give us a great year as back up coming off their somewhat fortuitous year as first choice this season.

Sorry to bother you as I am sure you have a lot of wtf messages to reply to, but.....

Worst midfield options in years? That is madness.

Last year we were watching peh and ndombele, the year before was Sissoko and winks. Even this year we have seen Dele in midfield.

How the bloody hell has our midfield now of bentancur, peh, Skipp and winks worse?

Which of the players we sold/loaned has been better than these 4 players? (I include Skipp at Norwich and bentancur at juve in this)

This is not just wrong, but close to insanity.

Wasn’t my comment…I posted it cos supposed spurs fans actually believe it. Essentially we haven’t received any money and spent £20m

So you do or don’t agree with what you posted..? If you don’t, it might be worth editing your first post as you’ve confused a lot of people.

Think one underrated thing here is squad morale. There’s been numerous comments from Kane, Lloris, etc. about issues within the squad, and I’d be willing to bet some of the players sold were the intended target of those comments.

The money we will save in wages is being overlooked. Gil, Dele, Lo Celso, Ndombele - they’re on a combined £400k+ per week. That’s close to £2M per month.
That means ticket prices are coming down right? right?

In evaluating our transfer window many have overlooked our best signing. The signing of our captain on a new contract was critical to our plans.
Overall I’m content with business as long as we get that RWB, striker and LCB in the summer!

We went into the window being told the priority positions would be filled. It was obvious the priority positions were RWB, striker and a first team mid. Possibly a left sided centre back too. We only addressed the CM position.

Last summer we got rid of a fair few high earners and already had positions in the squad free to add this window. Sissoko, Toby, Vorm, Hart, Lamela, Rose, Aurier and Bale all left and majority were some of our biggest earners.

We then added Gil, Romero, Gollini and Emerson. Bar Romero, I can’t imagine the other additions increasing our wage budget drastically.

Compared to the start of the summer, our wage budget has been massively lowered.

Therefore, the two ways I can possibly see this window being summed up is:
1. We’re preparing for a huge summer.
2. ENIC are preparing the club to be in a position for investment/sale.

no “that’s all folks” from the goat yet ,we’re doing one hell of a job keeping this 3rd signing quiet
We're almost entering VDV territory. I still have the BBC live ticker update saved on my phone

1755: You've got to love Tottenham on days like this, you just have to. They have five minutes to wrap it up, but get a load of this. Sky Sports News are claiming a deal could - COULD - be done for the Londoners to sign Netherlands international Rafael van der Vaart from Real Madrid. Unbelievable.

Those were the days!

I remember way back when we bought in the Magnificent 7 with the Bale money. At the time, the one I was most excited about was Ericksen. Just had this feeling he was going to be the best of the bunch. Certainly wasn't the most expensive of them all.

For whatever reason, I get the same feeling with Kulu. Just something about him, that makes me feel like he will develop into a rather special player for us. Especially under Conte. He will become a critical first XI fixture.

I am pleased with this window. More so the outgoings. As it doesn't take a genius (with the greatest respect to our resident ITKers) to know that there are some very, very good deals to be made this summer. Whether it be free agents, or players with 1 year remaining on their contracts.

By freeing up space, we can be proactive, and hopefully bring in four or five significant signings before the start of pre-season training. And my guess is that quite a lot of the groundwork has been laid for those deals over the past month.

I'd be utterly flabbergasted if by the third week of July we haven't signed a new GK, LCB, RWB, CM and Forward. At minimum. Conversely, also would be surprised if Rodon, Doherty, Moura, Winks, Lo Celso and Tanguy are still Spurs players by then.

Really think it'll be a massive summer in terms of Conte's rebuild. And depending on how things shake out, I wouldn't be shocked if we end up selling 6 or 7, and signing the same amount, give-or-take.

This was always gonna be a huge, long-term effort. January was merely Step 1.

1. Man United have been shit for a decade but most of you would still part with very good money for a few of their players
2. The main factor in price is most likely Juve's need to sell because of Vlahovic.
3. Who cares what their fans say? The mensa candidates in our match threads demonstrate that most fans are utter dingleberries when it comes to player analysis.

Nobody is saying they're world beaters but we are undoubtedly in a better place than we were and even if Juve have been firing blanks for a couple of seasons they are still vastly better than we and most of the premier league are.
1. Depends which players. These 2 have performed inconsistently for that time. I wouldn't be interested in AWB or Fred.
2. Seemed to be a couple of clubs interested in these guys but the sum-total of that demand still didn't drive up the price. Often telling
3. I think fans are a good gauge. We don't want to sign someone else's Emerson/Winks. Likewise we should have listened to Wolves re Doherty.

These guys definitely aren't bad, but it it's understandable if everyone isn't unequivocal in their praise. It's open for debate
