We've only got one out and out striker in the squad. You'd have thought Pekhart or Barcham might have got a game in this one.

We've also got 3 specialist left-backs in the squad plus two other players that have played LB for us recently...

Seen the pictures on COYS with Dimi on the bench with DC? Looks miserable as sin.

Courtesy of Ange_Spurs over on COYS.

But then again, it was reported he was miserable and refused to play against Norwich, yet when the cameras cut to him he was laughing and joking with staff, so .

To be fair, the best goal of the match was easily Orients opener - stunner, really was.

Kaye - I love you and i'm gonna buy you flowers or wine or something cos whenever i have some Spurs question i'm already dialling your number before i think whether you're likely to be busy, what the time is, if i'm being a pain in the arse, but you're always so nice and you always have the answer  you rawk, owe you another one

We saw him warming up before the second half started, everyone wondered who he was but wasn't too curious until he came on, around about the hour mark - ended up with one bloke standing up and shouting, "Does anyone know who that kid who just came on is?" and just got shrugs back - quick phonecall to Special K and straight away me, my old man and the bloke next to us were trying to make up a song for him

All we managed was to the Adams Family tune, "He came out of nowhere, the short guy with the dark hair, is he a fan on a dare? No! His name is Adam Smith! Duh duh duhduh *click* *click*"

so, anyone know who he is then, cos Googling "Adam Smith" is a bit of a waste of time  He was pretty good though

One thing to take away from the game, hoping Dawson didn't harm the lad permanantly; Dawkins (on loan at the O's) looked magnificent til he got borked - real flair player and really young with it.

Did you see the trouble in the away stand, A?

I was directly opposite in the Orient stand, and couldn't really work out what it all was about?

What we can agree on, I hope, is that Taarabt is absolutely wank. He's got nothing. No touch, no pace, no nothing. :-( Really was hoping he'd prove me wrong tonight. And really didn't.

Dos Santos changed the game completely, we looked a completely different side. Slotting JJ back in next to Modric seemed to work a dream too - if we sign no more central midfielders I reckon we'll start JJ and Modric in the middle.

Lennon was quiet first half, but then was much more lively second half and scored a magnificent header from the edge of the box after good work from GDS and a great right-back run from Zokora.

The first half was pretty much all Orient, we didn't really get out of first gear and they scored the goal of the game after 4 minutes. A peach of a goal with Demetriou cutting in from the left, some 25 yards out and curling in to the opposite top corner with an absolute exorcet of a strike.

The rest of the half saw Bent have a half chance that was well snaffled by their keeper and Taarabt continue to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, and really just constantly give the ball away or put into touch by over-playing.

Second half started with a bang, and after a melee in the area, GDS's corner found it's way to Bent's boot who smacked it home for his first. The game changed. Zokora was now at right back, and Dawson and Huddlestone looked assured in the middle, ably supported by BAE who was drafted in for Gilberto at half time.

Bale played pushed up as a left-sided midfield player, although it worried me to see his legs so heavily strapped, almost to the point of no hoops on the socks! He had some useful touches before being subbed off for new boy Townsend by the end.

Dos Santos, however, was at the heart of everything. Him and Modric seem to be on the same wavelength, and our movement was infinitely more better with those two on the field. Modric soon added the third with a crisp yet deflected strike from the left edge of the box and left the keeper stranded and helpless. With the lead comfortable we continued to press. JJ had a fantastic scissor-kick effort that just dipped over, and GDS had a shot or two blocked.

Bent rounded the keeper for the fourth and finished from a tight angle with aplomb. I've got high hopes for him, his confidence appears to be growing with every touch.

After yet more great work from Dos Santos it was Bent who benefitted again, with his hattrick being completed with a vicious effort flying in off the bar. And the match was settled and a couple of unknown kids in Townsend and Smith got a run out, at left midfield and right back respectively.

Only disappointments for me were Gilberto, but then that could just be as a casualty of a poor first half team display, and most definitely Adel Taarabt, who, quite simply, doesn't look up to speed or really on the same planet as any one of our other players.

There you go ... that's my match report, just for you DC.

Always the possibility of a new contract unveiled tomorrow at the press conference. I don't think he looks THAT miserable in that picture, more the pensive Berbatov we're used to. Yeah, either he's signed a new contract, or he's very close to demanding a sale, or spurs have just told him they aren't going to sell him, or Comolli scared away the squirrels on his approach is all I can think seeing those pictures.

Also interesting Comolli's in England and not Russia or Spain.

Either way, another solid game today, hopefully we can keep it up against Celtic. Good job Bent for answering a lot of the press who were asking if Spurs could cope without Keane.

Edit: this got posted really late because of the site going down, nice match reports guys.

Did you see the trouble in the away stand, A?

I was directly opposite in the Orient stand, and couldn't really work out what it all was about?

I was in the West but we got a pretty good view of it all as the bloke went on a bit of a chase with a few stewards on his case, up the steps to the top, then half way across the block and they took him down, then a few fans got a bit rowdy nearby, the old bill got paranoid and started to move up but everyone else backed off and they carted the one guy off.

What we can agree on, I hope, is that Taarabt is absolutely wank. He's got nothing. No touch, no pace, no nothing. :-( Really was hoping he'd prove me wrong tonight. And really didn't.
Agreed, he was dire - every touch was slack, his passing was terrible (though the O's were playing their balls off closing down), i don't see him sticking around long if that's what he's got to offer.

Dos Santos is a wizard, as Agent Stoof says, he changed the game completely. He's got such a swagger and his technique is outstanding - does concern me that he's taken a knock in the last two games against what i guess can be considered rough oppo, i don't like the idea of having someone like Essien scythe him down

Bent's looking like he enjoys the delivery Lennon's been offering who in turn looks like he's finding a bit of cohesion with Dimi (who also played really quite well tonight) and enjoys having Gunter there - how eager is that lad? Wasn't as sharp tonight as the Norwich game, but he's not done half bad

Zoko was taken off for the mystery package that was Adam Smith (who?) late on, who also didn't look too shabby against a tired O's midfield - guys, i'm really quite confident that, if our youngsters continue to progress at the rate they are, we've got such an incredible future ahead, we really have.

First half started bright then, after about 5 minutes, the cracks showed. Modric did a lot of running, and i took confidence in the fact Huddlestone appears to be much more willing to run and put in a tackle, but there wasn't the cohesion or danger about us until Dosser came on - frankly, he's a star and i'm incredibly impressed with him.

O's fans were an alright bunch as well, but they usually are - they rightly danced as Demetriou's shot curled like a salmon into the corner, leaving our keep at full stretch, but they were fair enough a bit deflated by the end.
