Proper end to a tournament, 6 under wins it, tough conditions & set-up penalising bad shots, cream rising to the top, just the way it should be. Excellent tournament, great to watch.

Less of the 22 under target golf and more of that please (y)

What a tournament that was! Managed to stay up until the end of the Rahm round and glad I did.

Love seeing mild-mannered golfers getting pumped up (unless they're American). Justin Rose going mental after draining a long putt at Medinah one of my all-time favourite sporting moments.

Managed to get out for a game this morning. First game since October of last year. Got some practice in on the range this week too.

5 over after 9 with 2 3 putts, wasn't bad. A quadruple bogey 8 on the 10th with a 4 putt killed any sort of rhythm I was finding and finished 14 over, 86.

More practice and regular games needed.

Club championships Round 1 last Saturday. I shot 84 (15 over) playing off 12 (95% hcap). Leader is net 64 playing off 17. 2nd is net 65 playing off 20...

I'm joint 20th at present out of 97, hoping for a decent 2nd round and a top 15 finish. Not making 4 doubles next time might help...(n)

Second round back this morning.

Could not hit a fairway again but rest of the game was good. Scrambled well front 9 for 18 points with one blank. 12 points back 9. If you don't hit fairways it catches up with you.

Got to get more practice on the range.

Round 2 - 86 (17 over). 3 doubles, 2 triples. Out in 13 over, back in 4 over, 5 lost balls, and overall an absolute clusterfuck of a round.

Then went out and shot 77 yesterday. Cut to 9.5. This game, man...:ROFLMAO:

Great going dude. I make it that you've almost halved your handicap in under a year(?) Great stuff. Game must be coming together very well

Yeah. I still have no length (that's what she said!), 230yds off the tee on a good day, but I'm much sharper from 130yards and in now, chipping/pitching etc. I was hemorrhaging shots there, but much better now. (y)

Drive for show, putt for dough. Short game is where the shots are gained.

My stats are horrendous on the green lately. I'm losing almost 4.5 shots per round, however gaining nearly 3 elsewhere due to having good misses. If I can tighten my putting up in time for the peak competitions this summer I'll be OK. Especially if the short game holds up and my accuracy improves a little.

Stats from my GPS helping massively now with where I need to focus practice. (EVERYWHERE!)

I keep seeing those graphics everywhere, looks really handy info to have; where are they from (which GPS)?

I use Golfshot via Apple Watch, which is great, which logs GiR, etc, and I keep a note myself of how putts i take per round (usually between 30-34).

Those stats are from ShotScope GPS watch. So many stats on it if used correctly.

Its got got distance only option or track and distance so the app is now giving me average yardage hit for each club too.

Too much info can be undermining for your game so I'm very selective about what I use from it

37 points(79 gross) this morning. Played pretty solid all the way round, no doubles, no 3 putts. Made some good putts, left about 3 out there as well though which was both frustrating and pleasing at the same time. 29 putts was pretty good too.

Big few weeks with a medal, Presidents Prize, Captains Qualifying and Captains Day all in the next 4 weeks.

Hopefully can keep the steady improvement

Edit: the difference in putting vs last week, chipping and iron play which I knew let me down yesterday but that's pleasing

Headed to St Georges tomorrow afternoon ready for Saturday! I'm so excited as this will be my first trip to a professional event! Really looking forward to seeing how the game should actually be played!

Will be staying in Dover overnight tomorrow so will try and get a cheeky round/practice session in with a stopover on the way back for a round on Sunday morning before it's back to the family

Listen to the noise it makes when they strike the ball. The difference will astound you.

Hopefully you get to see quite a lot of golf and follow the groups you want to. Never walked RSG for a major but some courses are roped off so much it’s impossible to follow a group round, which is what I like to do

I’m off to Sunningdale Sunday week for the final round of the Senior Open. Always a fantastic walk & watch

For anyone interested the ballot for tickets for next years open at St Andrews is open now and you can apply for it. I've done it, applied for 2 tickets for Thursday as could only do one for the Sunday.

Working the Open this week, doing one of the RF cameras out on the course, followed the Rahm Lowry group in morning ( Rahm was not in a good mood and you need to be careful if your doing a camera around him when he’s like that ), then Thomas and Tommy in the afternoon. Weather to only get better !
