Like I said, Pav is more productive in the final 3rd but does little else on top of that. Crouch does more of the other things in play. So comparing minutes per assist/goal is ok for comparing their direct contribution to goals, but doesn't prove that Pav is a lot better quality than Crouch. Just that he's better in contributing directly to goals.Crouch Assists come every 404 minutes. That's one assist every 4 and a half games. Hardly prolific.
Pav actually scores once every 200 minutes. Once every 2 and a bit games.
In other words Pav scores twice as frequently as Crouch merely assists.
I'd say that's not even close in terms of quality.
It does show that he's more productive in the final 3rd than I realised. You're right, there does seem to be a distant gap in that aspect of the game. It's just the other aspects of the game where I think Crouch is more involved in. I've always seen Pav as the out and out striker, where Crouch is more of a back to goal lay it off striker.
